  1. Well, he's got great speed, a good glove, and usually posts a decent OBP. On the other hand, he has no power and won't ever be a great hitter. He's not a bad 5th outfielder.
  2. At this point, I don't think counseling would do anything to a trash-talking, fashion-loving d-bag like Avery.
  3. Why should Avery be banned forever? He shouldnt have even been suspended. Of course Dallas should have never signed him to that ridiculous contract either. I'm a hater.
  4. I haven't posted in this thread in awhile, so... Go Devils, Crosby sucks, Avery should be b& forever. Or run over by a bus.
  5. QFT Whatever you guys want to believe, no team is gonna sign Bonds.
  6. If he can get 400 at bats, I'm cool with it. His health is an issue, but I think we can give him days off here and there to preserve his health. Fukudome and Johnson are both capable of moving over and let's not forget DeRosa could play on Bradley's off days with Fontenot playing second.
  7. The Mets are interested but I think they're waiting to see how the market shapes up.
  8. Here's the way I see it: Padres can't really afford to keep Peavy. Towers knows this Peavy really only wants to go to the Cubs, maybe a West Coast team. Eventually Towers is gonna realize he has to do something and cave in. It's a matter of time, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
  9. Schowenweis in his career has allowed lefties to hit .224 off him and righties .294. This season, lefties only hit around .170 off him. Might be an interesting LOOGY option, but I doubt he'd be used that way and I don't know what his contract looks like.
  10. l;dfkja;ldjf;askdfkldsjaf;dslk Well if we sign Bradley, trade Marquis and maybe do something else, I'll get over it. I know we didn't really need him him but I wanted Peavy. I guess it's good we didn't overpay and JH wouldn't let himself get jerked around.
  11. Apparantly not. Maybe it's because no one is typing in green.
  12. Did he mention trading our starting SS for some young unknown kid named Sandberg?
  13. He gets an out-clause after 3 years. Still a horrible contract, no matter how good he is.
  14. I don't want to get excited, yet. I'm gonna wait and see. We heard a deal was close yesterday and the rumor was shot down and nothing materialized.
  15. Wait...what?
  16. That's what I saw when I woke up this morning.
  17. I had Chinese food for dinner and got the following fortune in my fortune cookie: "Good news will come to you from far away." Is this a good sign?
  18. I won't mind rooting for Wood on the Indians. At least it's an AL team. :( One that routinely plays against the White Sox. And one that comes to Wrigley Field from June 19-21. How weird would that be? He'd get a standing ovation the first time he took the mound. That will last the duration of his appearance. At least I'd keep cheering for him.
