    Take it with a grain of salt, but: Carrie Muskat reported Derek Lowe has made it known he would be willing to sign with the Cubs. He's still pretty decent, but I see him signing with Boston.

    Tell me something I don't know. Yankee fans and other baseball people go crazy over how good a shortstop Jeter is, just based off the plays they see on Baseball Tonight. I remember last year there was an article after another study naming Jeter the worst defensive SS in baseball, and Yankee fans were asked for their opinions. Not one of them defended his defense, but they all got pissed at the study saying, "Jeter is a great player, a great Yankee, a great leader, and a clutch hitter."

    Except Dunn and Abreu aren't exactly better in the field and Ibanez is cheaper. Granted, I'd rather have the other guys but wouldn't be too disappointed if we ended up with Ibanez.

    Technicality. If he wants to come back and the Cubs want him back, a deal will be made. I want to see the Cubs pursue Peavy first, as much as I like Dempster.

    Hopefully I have always been a big fan of his, I was thinking it would take Ceda, Castillo, and a prospect to get him but seeing as they just traded Jacobs for a 25 year old reliever all it might take is Ceda or Castillo and a prospect. With that recent article saying Fuku to CF and trade for Lefthanded RF, and sign/trade for bullpen help why not try to also get Kevin Gregg included in a Hermida trade, that way we have a backup plan for closer if Wood leaves and Marmol stays in the more valuable spot, or if Wood returns Gregg could become a 6th/7th inning guy. I like that idea and have read the Marlins may unload Gregg as well.

    I like this move, even though Fukudome might not. Looking at that list: Griffey- old, brittle Hinske- more of a fourth OF, DH type though he would be cheap Bradley- injury prone, but good when healthy Abreu- power numbers deteriorating, not getting any younger and won't be cheap Ibanez- butcher in the OF, can still hit, won't be too pricey Dunn- expensive, OF butcher, but great power threat Anderson- declining in every category, doesn't walk, could hit .290 but won't add much else and would probably want a multi-year deal Looking at those options, I'd go for Dunn, Bradley and Ibanez in that order.

    I know I'm a tad late to the party but.... GO PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can still hear non-stop cheering and every person driving through State College is honking their horn repeatedly. It's mass chaos, and I like it.

    If we could pull off a trade including Peavy and Gonzalez, I'd probably faint. That said, no way it's happening.

    As much as I like Lee, trading him gives us a lot of options. And signing Texiera would be a huge upgrade and big boost to the offense.

    I know there are decent internal options, but I don't wanna see Wood go. They should see if he'll take a 2 year deal. Howry will be off the books.
