  1. That is a haul for a non-closer reliever who is a pure rental. Gilbert and Tidwell both performing in AAA and are top-10 ish prospects in Mets system.
  2. His time was coming to an end. ERA over 6 and FIP over 7 since his scoreless streak ended. He wasn't gonna have a roster spot past this weekend anyway. Thanks for the memories.
  3. One of my favorite players growing up. This really sucks. He signed through the mail for me a few years ago and he was prolific at signing for fans and there had been people saying their cards were returned to sender recently so it didn't seem good.
  4. More confusing, Brewers getting Jansen or Rays trading Jansen and then trading for Nick Fortes?
  5. I would trade Caissie and Wiggins for Strider. Unlikely he's available though.
  6. Well this one ain't happening. Clase suspended through August as part of a gambling investigation.
  7. As would I. But now with McMahon off the market, the price probably went up. And McMahon isn't a rental and is an elite defender but he has an OPS below .600 away from Coors, so.....
  8. Feels like a return for Suarez based on this and Naylor would be something like Will Sanders and Triantos? Maybe a little more?
  9. Rookie left-hander Brandyn Garcia and pitching prospect Ashton Izzi are headed back to Arizona, reports ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Both in the 10-20 range in Seattle's system.
  10. Reminds me of how he tore it up for a couple weeks after being recalled, only to slump again. Hope it's sustainable but also hope they make an infield addition at the deadline.
  11. FYI Pipeline updated their top 30s ahead of the deadline.

  13. I have to think some of the negativity stems from him being an underwhelming acquisition when it felt like resources were slim and hopes were aimed higher for another starter. Rea has pitched better than anticipated and is a fine 5th starter whose presence has really helped given injuries, but I hope we don't see him in the postseason.
  14. Kidding aside I've liked Bradley for awhile and would definitely be a fan of acquiring him but I'm sure the ask would be high.
  15. I mean, yeah he sneaks into the back half of the top 10, sure. The ranking is basically your favorite order of: Ballesteros, Alcantara, Caissie, Wiggins, Rojas and then after that it's pretty open. Lotta guys with upside but also warts. No reason to think our 1st rounder the FO and some talking heads really like couldn't get into the top 10 right now. Triantos is a bat only guy with minimal power who isn't hitting. Birdsell has been hurt most of the year. Long doesn't have a defensive home. Etc. Etc. Etc.
  16. It really is so hard to judge an MLB draft immediately. These things need to simmer. My initial impression as a casual draft follower is we got some real interesting guys who will be fun to follow. Think back to how stoked we all were for that 2011 draft class. Mostly a big yikes in hindsight aside from Javy.
  17. Hey the Book is out on that pick. He went to school in Philly. This area has seen some kids do well in the last few years
  18. Hey I wasn't completely wrong! You were in State College when I went to Penn State right? Kinda wild we never met up. Alas.
  19. Are you still in Columbus or am I just misremembering random things from 15 years ago?
  20. I was saying like a month ago we should give Long a shot. We barely use Brujan (and both he and Berti suck). Swap them out and it gives them a few games to see if Long could be a useful bat down the stretch and doesn't stop the front office from making other moves. We have no power on our bench aside from our catchers, which is grim. Something needs to change.
  21. Zach McKinstry is an All Star.
  22. My pie in the sky is still Joe Ryan, Griffin Jax and Willi Castro but an interesting thought is going to the Rangers. Josh Smith is having a good season and can play all over. Nathan Eovaldi is having a good season and wouldn't be a rental. Could also look at one of their relievers. Would Ballesteros, Caissie, Ben Brown for Eovaldi, Smith and Hoby Milner be too much? Not enough?
