  1. This is what I'm thinking. And this is the reason players want the NTC. They have their family and personal lives to consider. I don't think he wants to drag this out but he's probably figuring out logistics before he says yes.
  2. Mets sign Adbert to a two year minor league deal. That sucksssss. Really wanted him to come back.
  3. Always liked Robertson, would be happy to have him back on a one-year deal.
  4. If that's the case, that would be great. Keep an interesting young depth player and open up a 40 man spot.
  5. That's the thing. He is a good player and I just never like the idea of giving up a lot for one year (Tucker included, though I can't say I hated that deal, just how little followed it). We do have someone on the way out for Berti too so there are some moves to be made. So Canario would be fine I suppose but now we have no options for the OF bench (it won't be Alcantara or Caissie). Keegan is a guy I like for personal reasons and he has been effective but I have assumed he wouldn't make it to OD anyway. Brujan seems unlikely to stick around with Berti. I'd rather keep Killian for the time being. Zastryszny is really only around until we get another lefty. If we work out a trade to keep Workman, he remains on the 40 man right?
  6. I like Pressly but not the idea of giving up assets for one year of a reliever. If we can expand the deal, they have this prospect I like named Cam Smith. Wonder what it would take.
  7. If that's the case, give me Connor Joe or Mark Canha and I would love to work out a deal to keep Workman. I think at the very least he'd be a solid defensive backup around the infield. I think we did something similar a few years ago to keep a Rule 5 pick in the system. All that said, I'm not loving the lack of power on the bench,
  8. Hey, get excited, we have our backup middle infielder! One year deal worth $2 million. He's not a bad depth guy but these feels an awful lot like settling. Good defender, no power. And it's his birthday today.
  9. Not a bad get if it's a MiLB contract. If he's requiring a 40-man spot then we truly are dumpster diving.
  10. Oh it's super intentional.
  11. Idk how legit these guys are but it would be an odd thing to make up. Guess this is our 3rd catcher going into the season, barring an opt-out. Seems like a handy guy to have around.
  12. I saw the Yates news ands couldn't help but laugh. Like, what else can you do at this point. And at this point, I'm all in on one year for Robertson and/or Jansen, unless the Dodgers sign them too. Gotta make a move now, Jed. Waiting game is over.
  13. I've been ok with Canario being the 4th OF. He has no options and I think he can hit enough to hold down the role. At least give him a shot at it before throwing in the towel on him.
  14. Water is wet.
  15. I thought it was Keegan Thompson with glasses but it might be Ethan Roberts?
  16. I saw a group photo of some of the team with Sosa and he was the only one I couldn't figure out. He looks different without glasses/rec specs ha.
  17. Snell Glasnow Yamamoto Sasaki Ohtani Gonsolin May and 4 guys coming off surgery and Miller, Knack, Frasso in AAA. Embarrassment of riches.
  18. No worries! We're all fans, some of us have favorites and memories and that's the point of these profiles. And sure!
  19. Oh so that's how a good team operates.
  20. Ha I was considering a write-up of him soon. He was a fun story and a fun player. When the Cubs visited in Philly in 2021, I went to the game and inadvertantly ended up sitting with his family (was initially tipped off by a Cubs Schwindel jersey, who would buy that at that point in Philly?). He's from NJ and a bunch of his cousins came down for the series. They were super nice and when the game ended he came over to say hi and they introduced me to him. We chatted for a minute and took a photo. Later on I mailed him the photo and he signed and personalized it, He raked for the Ducks last year so I hope he gets another shot somewhere.
  21. Morejon would be a solid get.
  22. Jesse Winker back to the Mets and apparently the Mets expect Alonso to go elsewhere. Could he go somewhere like the Blue Jays and he or Vladdy take over DH? Seems to make sense.
  23. That's disappointing. I had hoped maybe we'd get an interesting lower level prospect. Or some bonus pool cash.
