  1. He still has work to do to get to Trent Dilfer level
  2. As long as he isn't Taylor 2.0, great. Like UM said, he looked great in pre-season. I can't think of one time Chester showed power or vision.
  3. rofl ITG, GBPH loljk
  4. Chief Illiniwek was not a mascot. According to the U of I's website, Chief was a mascot: "On February 21, 2007, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign retired the Chief Illiniwek as its mascot." http://studentaffairs.illinois.edu/diversity/mascotIssue.html
  5. Looks like a champion to me.
  6. Fans of Mascotless School A are making fun of another B1G team's recruit? You don't say. Nice grab Iowa. Hope you guys continue your upswing.
  7. (may God have mercy on my soul) There's obviously a better chance of him playing because it happened earlier in the week.
  8. Heard rumblings that his mom passed. Obviously not good, from both a personal and football perspective.
  9. It's not an accusation. It's a fact.
  10. That stigma has been around too long. Agreed, we've gotten plenty of talent in.
  11. He's probably gonna get his current $15/year in the market. For 2 years. From a production/age standpoint, I'm hoping for a Konerko-esque deal 3/39 range. After 2 injured years, he's back to being a top 3 3B producer. Need his bat for the middle of the order. Spend all the rest of the cash on pitching. We're not going to get Pujuols or Fielder.
  12. So is making the tournament every year since '98. How are all those top flight Illini recruits working out? Still finishing in the middle of the big ten? or dropping a solid 9th place like 3 years ago? Expected return post: over-emotional defense of how mccamey and tisdale sucked, didn't have any recruits the class after that wait another year until DJ, Paul, Crandall and Meyers Leonard will be dominating blah blah blah same story new year we made it to the championship with dee, luther, deron and jack ingram in 05 Then take shot back: wisconsin basketball is full of slow big white players, gets lucky, won't ever win a championship Glad we got all that covered.
  13. Illinois fans are too busy having a meltdown as they are finally realizing they are a middle of the pack Big Ten team. As for Sam, he's a more athletic Leuer. Can take guys off the dribble, shoot the long ball, and throws it down with ease. Not bad for a 6'7" white kid from Wisconsin. Since we lost the battle with NC for JP Tokoto, Sam has been shooting up the recruiting boards, while JP has been falling.
  14. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but having Delaney say quality over quantity would mean ND and a school out east (should push come to shove). And then hopefully no reason to go from 14 to 16 schools.
  15. These reactions are awesome.
  16. People still associate Wisconsin offense with Ron Dayne and PJ Hill - just running a 260 lb RB between the tackles and get 5 yards/carry. Maybe a QB boot and TE screen now and again. They've really recruited some different players recently. Now that Clay is out, our 4 top RBs are in the 190-220 range, looking for quickness and pass catching to go along with running between the tackles. Just watch Ball's TD run from last night. Throw in athletic TEs (admittedly we still need long-term help at WR) and this is a versatile offense with a great mind (Chryst) running it. Russell Wilson adds so much more, but we also have the #4 QB in the nation (Bart Houston) coming in.
  17. You're welcome........... Some other winners from deadline day: Chicago Cubs The Cubs took a bunch of tough-sign players who slipped not just on bonus demands but because of baseball concerns, from Dillon Maples' arm action to Shawon Dunston, Jr.'s disappointing performance this spring to Daniel Vogelbach's DH-ness to Trevor Gretzky's general rawness in all areas of the game. They spent the money to at least get those players in the bank, topping them off with first-round pick Javier Baez, who immediately becomes the system's best long-term prospect. Scouting director Tim Wilken has always marched to his own beat, but you won't find many scouts willing to bet against him, and he did go for major upside on those picks as well as earlier sign Zeke DeVoss. The club has had a horrible year on the field, magnified by the Carlos Zambrano fiasco but really just caused by a terrible roster and front-office delusions of grandeur, so this draft class has to be a bright spot for eternally-suffering Cubs fans. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog?name=law_keith&id=6865694
  18. For some reason, I'm going to have a weird/northernly detour driving home from work on Thursday. Thursday night opener to see Russell Wilson in person? yes please.
  19. He's already left his Ashville team and is in Madison. Given, that's only two months to mesh and practice, but given his experience/maturity and the experience of the team, I don't have too many concerns. Plus having one of the top OC's in the country to gameplan for his style of play and easy non-conference schedule, hopefully Wilson will be fully ramped up come the Nebraska game. That and he won't have to pass 40 times/game like he did at NC State. Badgers are full on favorites for their division, and are almost neck and neck with Neb for the conference.
  20. No, we push our students to double major, when possible.
  21. Can't blame him. I don't think Wisconsin has ever been in a recruiting situation before that required commenting. Noone seems to ask questions about the also-rans.
  22. Whelp, this sucks. Have about 20 of us going to a rooftop to start off a bachelor party. Any ideas? Just head to whirly ball and get pitcher after pitcher?
  23. From what I heard, Richmond yelled at the team for not putting forth good effort in practice and yelled at the coaches too. Got benched mainly for yelling at coaches. Can't guarantee that's the exact reason, what I got from an Illini friend/grad. I just wish he'd stop tucking his warm-up shirt into his shorts.
