  1. I forgot, but is this applying to basketball as well, or is the Big Ten doing a 12 team division? Obviously, football is reasons 1, 2.....500 for the divisions, but for basketball: Div 1: Michigan state and .......? Div 2: Badgers, Ill, OSU, Purdue I'd rather keep the Iowa rivalry then Minnesota. The only people that care about the Wisc-MN game anymore are those from the twin cities. The UW-MN hockey rivalry is bigger than football. Although, the Axe is the coolest rivalry trophy in college football.
  2. What happened? I'm not watching, but it sounds like Baker left because he had to poop. He didn't try on the ball to left, and then he asked for Lou and not the trainer, went straight into the clubhouse, and the coaches were laughing when Lou was discussing the lineup changes with the Umps. From a friend watching the game. A hypothesis.
  3. WARNING: side effects of being managed by Dusty Baker include, but are not limited to, Tommy John surgery and the use of PEDs
  4. Our next off day is May 3rd. I think Marmol might be used a couple times in useful situations in the next 2.5 weeks. Horrible
  5. Watchable Wisconsin games are pretty darn rare. They play fantastic defense, but their games just grind to a halt. Not quite must-see TV. But results are results.
  6. My 2pm just got moved to Monday, freeing me up to take off at lunch for the 1:50 Badger tip! :yahoo:
  7. So much fun to watch all these upsets, no matter what it does to my bracket (only Vandy right now). . . . That is, until the upset is Wisconsin.
  8. Ken convinced me to put Wisconsin in the finals. That man is a genius wrapped in telepathy wrapped in James Lipton. way to listen.
  9. Best first day of basketball EVAHHHHH
  10. Hughes is our Soriano. 0-3 with 3 K's, then game tieing hit. Hughes was 0-11, then hit 4 3's. We'll still lose, but he has 14 points
  11. This is ridiculous. Have our shots aren't even close. Total airball count needs to be about 7 or 8 right now. I hope we don't drop below a 4 seed. I was really aiming for a 3 seed.
  12. I would like to disagree. Although the Illini have a very good chance at winning, they will not "kick the #@$% out of the Badgers." The Badgers only have 1 double digit loss all year (by 13 vs. Gonzaga in Maui), all other losses less than 10, including trips to OSU (9, without Leuer), MSU (7), and Purdue (3, coulda/shoulda win, also without Leuer) when all of those teams were fully healthy (with Turner, Lucas, and Hummel). Should be the best game today. I hope Bo sends Leuer and Nankivil to defend the 15-17 footers by Tisdale and Davis. I also hope we don't get into foul trouble, cause the Illini do that to us. It'll be interesting to see which McCamey shows up. Has Bruce used a zone at all this year? It's gotten to Wisconsin when we've played OSU and Minne.
  13. Could be heard for a long time. Wisconsin's playin pretty ugly right now. Not even trying to get down low. Leuer looks quite rusty.
  14. wisconsin is a chucking team that simply is a little better at it than iowa. they've regularly underachived (and always will) in the tournament because ryan runs a gutless, chucking offense that allows any crappy team to play with them at any given time. An offense is bound to change when it loses its star 6'10" player. I would like to shoot less 3-pointers, but we're still winning. As for underachieving in the tournament, besides Illinois' championship game appearance, Wisconsin has had greater success, making the final four, elite eight, and 2 sweet sixteens in the past 10 years. I'll assume you're just bitter from losing by 20 at home to what you consider a worse team. I know the feeling, but then again, our loss was only by 7.
  15. Wisconsin is just a glorified Iowa and wasn't a big win unless you're talking about msu. Both those statements are fantastic. You don't beat MSU if Lucas plays. And a team that's made the tourney 12 years in a row (counting this year, as they are a lock) and has had 20+ wins in 7 of 8 years isn't a glorified anything.
  16. No way, this one half in which OSU shot 60 percent from three is definately enough for all of us to throw that out the window. 3 point shooting or not, OSU is running Illinois up and down the floor. Illini making bad passes, can't do anything inside, and have had ZERO prouction at the guard spot.
  17. Someone still making an argument that the Illini could be tops in the Big Ten, talent-wise? 1 big win and the crazies have a field day. Zero consistency, only 2 talented players right now.
  18. I have a keeper/methodology question: How many people actually target a top QB going into a draft compared to getting a value QB later and stacking RB/WR in the first 5 rounds? My keeper question is either Calvin J. in the 4th round or Warner in the 12th. I realize Warner in the 12th round is a great value, but getting a top tier WR, which are more scarce, in the 4th could provide a better return. Netting Calvin the 4th could get me 2 top tier WR's and still allow for a #1 and #2 RB. (if going Rb round 1, Wr rnd 2, RB round 3, Calvin in 4).
  19. Save this for the regular season. Or postseason. Aramis FC on high chopper. Runs scores. Runners on corner
  20. A) The second half of the Wisconsin game was absolutely incredible. Wisconsin's offense is not built to come from behind, but...yeah. B) Defending Big Ten Basketball The Big Ten has had 4 different teams in the championship game since 2000 (MSU in 2000, Indiana in 2002, Illinois in 2005, and OSU in 2007, roughly every other year). I forgot what I was listening to, but they were debating Big Ten bball and the main point for their style of play is that they are designed for the tournament. Calm, defensive-minded coaches who trust their systems and go deep in their bench. Which is needed for the tournament.
  21. Wierd, I don't have any more meetings scheduled after 2 today. Spring training or not, baseball gets my blood flowing.
  22. I think "scare" is the wrong term, maybe. If someone came back from the future and told me the Cubs didn't win the 2009 NL Central title, my best guess as to who beat them would be the Cardinals. But I don't expect it to happen. As well you shouldn't. Time travel is impossible and expensive.
