  1. Probably keep them at 5th, behind the Pack, 49ers, Saints, and Pitt, but ahead of Balt and NE.
  2. Looks like my signed Manelly jersey is now a collector's item.
  3. The belt would break. He's gotta learn to pass on seconds.
  4. UPDATE (from earlier in the thread): The smell of Kam's literally made my wife throw up. We grabbed a booth there after the game (I stood, for obvious reasons) with some friends, just poured a pitcher, and she had to excuse herself. And she's the Illinois grad.
  5. As long as Sveum brings $200MM with him
  6. and when chris rock played for them You must be forgetting Butch's dislocated elbow vs. OSU a few years back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZiLPZXjZd4 There we go.
  7. and when chris rock played for them You must be forgetting Butch's dislocated elbow vs. OSU a few years back.
  8. I'm not sure how much we can gather out of these games for IU. They're obviously much more athletic then the teams they're playing and are just overwhelming them. It is fun to be back in a position though where these games are not a struggle anymore. It will be interesting to see what happens when they come up against some teams that will test them. Watching them I can't help but think about next year either. Taking only 1 player out of the top 7-8 and replacing it with 5 freshman of which 3 of them will probably contribute immediately? This team could be good, but that team is very likely to be good to great. Plus that team will have to be one of the top 2-3 athletic teams in the Big 10. The Big Ten is going to be very good over the next few years. There is a truckload of talent coming into several programs. IU will be off the floor, Purdue will have more 4 star talent on their roster at one time than I can recall, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, Illinois (depending on Weber situation), OSU... Assuming Sullinger goes pro, next year could be a wide open race with what, 4-6 teams with a shot at the title? Hell, even Iowa has gotten their recruiting going well again. Illinois pre-season, or Illinois halfway through failing expectations? zing.
  9. PC would have a Daniel-Stern-Rookie-of-the-Year-size lipper in up in the press box
  10. I can't remember, does the Rose Bowl still have direct ties to B1G and Pac? I'd rather see us vs. an SEC school as well. Not saying we'd win, but I think it'd answer more questions than playing Oregon or Stanford. Or TCU.
  11. First to .500. May the most mediocre team prevail in the AFC West.
  12. I made a promise we could stop in after the game. Not looking forward to it. Should just be a quick stop on the way to Firehaus or somewhere else
  13. You're going to [expletive] down our throats. Most people usually do that on the floor of Kams, but I guess
  14. Oh, when the Illinois and Badgers were 6-0 and this game was looking golden. Then life set in. I'll still be in attendance. This game splits the household.
  15. Hm. Should have written that clearer. Didn't mean to sound like pity. FTR: I hope anyone involved rots in hell.
  16. And there it is. Terrible ending to a lifetime of success.
  17. Not a great bedtime read for the little ones http://www.amazon.com/Touched-Jerry-Sandusky-Story/dp/1582613575/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
  18. Why? 18 points, 5 assists, 4 boards, 1 steal, and 1 TO a game just doesn't do it for some people. However, without a clear #2 scorer, it'll be interesting to see if he comes down some this year. Then again, it's a Bo Ryan team, so either the ball control offense will get him some opportunities, or someone will step up.
  19. I'll have what he's having
  20. BB's timeouts aside, the missed false start call on the shovel pass on 3rd and 8 is largely disappointing. I was severely praying for "undisputable evidence"
  21. My favorite part was close to the end when Craig James? said "if Arizona goes 5-1 in their last 6 games they are in a bowl game" Craig James is one of the two most wrothless pieces of talking head crap in college football. The other is Beano Cook, but at least he has an excuse cause he's in his 80s. Don't know why they still wheel in his body.
  22. B1G stepped in and suspended Gholston for this weekend's game. 2 points: 1) They only punished him for the punch, not the head twist 2) Still laughing that the MSU AD is defending Gholston and they obviously are ok with those things up there if the B1G needed to step in since MSU wasn't doing anything
  23. Noone else thrown off by the football metaphor for a baseball situation? He couldn't have said "negotiations are rounding third" or "they're heading to the bottom of the 9th"?
