the brewers are in a great position. they have two position players (overbay and clark) that could be moved and replaced by young, cheap, capable guys. they've developed a pretty good young, cheap, productive pen, and they have sheets locked up.
he stepped out of the box, went behind the catcher and had an extended argument w/ the ump. it was a bad call, but edmonds should know better. nobody's going to bend the rules for him. Showing more patience isn't bending the rules, it was dumb for him to argue in the manner he did. He shouldn't have been thrown given the circumstances of being such a close game and the post-season. i don't know if i buy into the argument that rules change given the circumstances. maybe if edmonds would have gotten tossed more during the regular season, he'd have learned his lesson by now. :D

why is brennaman sticking up for edmonds? you know damn well you can't argue balls and strikes, does the rule change because it's the 8th inning of game 4 and you're jim edmonds?
i would have really enjoyed seeing eckstein roll into a nice 6-4-3 after the announcers got down falling all over themselves about how he doesn't strike out. larussa w/ some questionable calls this game. too bad they can't squeeze right here so everyone can call him a genius.
the umpire rang him up! aj completely bs'ed his way onto first base. watch erstad on the replay...he's saying that he saw the ump give the out sign, which he did...what an awful, awful call.
i gotta say...it wouldn't bother me one bit to see the white sox win. think of the pressure that would be put on hendry, the trib and the cubs. the white sox follow the red sox in ending really long dry spells...everyone would be looking at the cubs to get their act together. of course, that may lead to some stupid, rash decisions, so maybe that's not for the best.
I received a trade offer last night. I rejected it and made a counteroffer (because the original proposal was for a draft pick I already traded). Today my counteroffer is no longer showing up. I'm not sure if it was because my counteroffer was rejected or it just disappeared. I suspect it just disappeared, because when somebody asks for my 5th round pick and I counter by offering my 4th round pick for the same player (with the snaking bracket my 4th and 5th round picks are consecutive picks anyway) it doesn't make sense to me that he'd reject it (unless he subsequently got a better deal elsewhere). plus, you get an email if someone rejects your offer. something must be wrong w/ the site. MOJ -- that's a quote from the final week of the season...one of my favorites.
