remember when hendry said hill may get a start before the season was up? well, despite the fact that maddux is unable to extend his stupid 'record' and that the cubs fell completely out of it early in september, it looks like that 'may' has turned into a 'you gotta be kidding me'. good news is, we got a bunch more meaningless starts from rusch, and we get to watch with bated breath as maddux tries to finish at .500 (tickets still available for this historic day!). i'm glad a month of completely pointless baseball has allowed us to learn nothing more about hill's abilities at the big league level.

I had this all lined up and ready to go. You beat me to it. Allow me to add this nugget: I can't even follow half of this. You oversleep sometimes, but get up too early other times, all because of day games? I suppose he blames Steve Stone for the Sun. is that a real quote by him? why isn't publicly laughed at by the entire country? also, i kinda doubt that many professional baseball players go to the laundromat.

seriously though, why did they take wakefield out? i was kinda hoping for a CG. i hope the rainout doesn't prevent him from starting sunday... and i don't think dusty reads.

if weaver ends up not making his second start, can i put someone else in after his start on tuesday? It sucks that the championship might be determined by who doesn't play. i was thinking the same thing, but there's no other way to do it unless you just lop off the last week from competition.
