  1. Any man who would bat A-Rod eighth, in any game, for any reason, is invalidated from consideration IMO. Disagree. ARod has sucked in the playoffs recently. With that lineup that they have, I don't see a problem dropping him that low in the order. it cracks me up how much people buy into clutchnicity.
  2. brenley's going to go to sf, piniella to ny, girardi to wash, and hendry's going to have to ask baker back.
  3. Exactly. If they are gonna spend all that money, get 4 #1 starters. You can assemble the best offensive lineup in baseball, but on any given night they can get shut down by good pitching, its that simple. and your #1 starter can get beat up by a good lineup on any given night. it's that simple.
  4. and giambi's sitting in favor of melky cabrera.
  5. congrats!
  6. i don't really care if his numbers raise.
  7. freel's had repeated big league success.
  8. so the phillies had the FEWEST sac bunts in the NL this year, yet they somehow scored the MOST runs in the league? unpossible! the royals led the AL in sac bunts...i haven't looked at the standings recently, but i'm just going to assume that they were awesome this year.
  9. i do think the missing ingredient for this terrible offense was hustle.
  10. send me your address and I will send you your prize when I get back from Canada. there's a prize?! woohoo!
  11. champs! my team's clutchnicity really showed up by posting two huge weeks in a row. looking back, i may have won it at the trade deadline with my flurry of moves. i'm glad i won b/c i traded away quite a bit to get all these players. another good battle, tim...let's do it again next year!
  12. yeah, i paid a heavy price to get what will likely be my second championship...kemp, cano, hanley ramirez...all three of those guys would look good in my lineup next year. thankfully, i still have some youth...papelbon, street, fielder, martin, hill, and hensley are all exempt.
  13. by no means did i think it was over going into week 2, but now i'm feeling pretty good about it.
  14. that's great stuff. by the way, i've been trying to find a site that lists the individual leaders in average w/ risp, but i haven't been able to. anybody know of one?
  15. ...blanco, of course. yes, thank goodness blanco is here. who knows where we'd be if he wasn't here...seventh place, maybe twelfth place...maybe not even in the AP top 25...it's hard to say. ah, gotta get in a few more shots against the young guys on your way out.
  16. goony makes an appearance! this was the first year in a long while that i haven't been to wrigley. still had to go w/ my dad and brother, though, so we went to milwaukee. didn't support the cubs that way.
  17. yes, that's true. but i love the cubs right now...two of my SP threw CG's against them last week.
  18. houston's won seven straight, the cardinals have lost seven straight. that's one way to make up seven games pretty quickly.
  19. i'm just glad they finally have an excuse that no one can pick apart...the ol' "unknown" excuse.
  20. i don't know about 'not good'...he's got a whip of 1.0something and almost a k per inning. but yeah, he's blown a bundle of saves this year.
  21. the boof had a no hitter thru four last night i think. street blows a save, but putz picks up the 8 point win.
  22. that's not drastically different from this year's pen, and it's not one of the best in the league.
  23. eyre takes the mark guthrie award for somehow posting a decent era despite allowing a crapload of baserunners.
