  1. wow, i didn't realize he was only at 66 pitches. boy, taking him out was stupid especially considering how bad the pen has been. lou has been really bad lately.
  2. So continue on arguing that the tow druck driver and stalled car owner have a right to be sued, but you will continue to make fools of yourselves. you really don't get it, do you?
  3. don't be sad, howry...you'll get another chance to pitch in the 8th inning of the next close game.
  4. that was a pathetic ab. swing at ball 3 on 2-0 and then stare at two strikes. how does any one in this organization have a friggin' job?
  5. thanks for swinging at ball 3, beltran.
  6. seriously. he screwed up once and that was it for him. howry screws up three times a week and still keeps getting chances.
  7. i understand lou managed this bullpen poorly (as always), but at some point pitchers have to get outs. Exactly its time we hold the pitchers accountable for sucking ass every freaking night, and quit blaming Lou for everything. lou's the one that keeps bringing in the terrible pitchers. no one's denying that they suck.
  8. that's it...hill and marquis to the pen, howry and eyre to the rotation. what a terrible team.
  9. wow, that guzman to the pen move is looking fantastic right now.
  10. he had to let ohman face one batter once he brought him in. this was still a horribly mismanaged inning by lou though.
  11. good thing guzman was moved to the pen.
  12. i've had enough of this cycle where howry sucks for a week, is demoted to mop up duty for a couple games, has a couple decent outings, regains lou's trust, is given his job as set up man back, sucks again.
  13. agree on chipper. his numbers are remarkably similar to arod's. of course, jones is older and arod will finish with much better numbers, but chipper's still underrated.
  14. can i sue you for telling a slight variation of the same lame joke fifty times in this thread?

    Week 8

i've grounded into 10 double plays this week...that seems insanely high.
  16. if hancock wasn't drunk and the tow truck driver/driver was negligent, would you be ok with suing them? Perhaps, but I see no negligence in this circumstance. well, if a guy on the internet who read a couple articles about it doesn't see any negligence then why even have a trial? im sure abuck12345 is an experienced lawyer on the other hand, right? since you want to be a dick about it, i graduated from law school two weeks ago. LOL In other words...you have no experience at all. you're right...three years of law school and i know no more than anyone else on this board.

    Week 8

i've got that going tonight too. boston, texas, arizona are all putting up runs, but not much from the drew sisters or teixeira. bush and lilly killed me tonight...i'd have been better off with both of them on the bench and letting meche's horrible start kill my opponent. of course, the cubs are making sure lowe makes up for meche...wow, they have no clue offensively. man, since i traded kouzmanoff, he has gone nutty.
  18. that is just laughable logic. i don't even know how to respond.
  19. FWIW, googling for "Missouri alcohol liability" uncovered two articles that seem to contradict your information. The pertinent portions: http://www.4therapy.com/consumer/life_topics/article/8927/533/Missouri+Court+Ponders+Alcohol+Liability+of+Convenience+Stores http://www.jointogether.org/news/headlines/inthenews/2006/mo-court-rules-convenience.html odd. the language of the statute makes it seem like you couldn't sue a bar.
  20. seriously. wow, 200 wins in three seasons...did they name the ballpark after him?
  21. I know tons of people in tons of different lines of work that are recognized as sacks of crap (police officers for example) and are actually outstanding performers. These 2 are good baseball examples. Sticking to my story: Hendry, Rothschild, Tribune Management, and Wrigley Field with the lead pipe in the Study. so the actual physical structure the cubs play in (like the wood, metal, dirt, cement and stuff) is more to blame for their failures than the guy who manages the team? whatever.

A lawyer who has never practice law - the most dangerous type there is. Huh? Think they know everything but have no practical legal experience. There is a lot more to the practice of law than what you learn in a law book. that's a pretty idiotic thing to say. you don't know me at all, and i am far from thinking i know everything. what did i say that wasn't accurate or what about this case is so beyond my simple mind?
  23. i found it hard to take anything he wrote seriously after he mentioned the "derek jeter gene."
  24. they're pure comparative negligence. and they don't have a dram shop act. I haven't read this whole thread, but judging by this post I assume what I'm going to say hasn't yet been said. We here in MO are a pure comparative negligence state. That's right. But we also do have a dram shop act. Mo. Rev. Stat. 537.053. My understanding of subsection (4) of that statute is that a person over 21 years old cannot sue an establishment for his own injuries arising from them overserving him. Because the wrongful death action is derivative, if Josh wouldn't have been able to sue, neither can his father. based on the part you mentioned and the following, i took it to mean they didn't have one...
