  1. I think they should go with Blanco and Soto, unless they can get rid of Blanco. Get your offense elsewhere. there's not enough positions on the field to make up offensively for having blanco catch every day.
  2. it looks like it may be taking points away for hr's, but not singles, doubles, triples.
  3. You're going to regret not trading me Fielder when you had the chance. yeah, i'm kicking myself. man, tim's closers get three saves with their teams nursing 4-5 run leads, and cordero has a chance to get one and the nats pile on five runs before he can get in. oh well, his one inning still got me a lot more points than verlander got tim.
  4. This is nice. I haven't been in the lead in weeks. :D My team seems to play better against tougher competition. are you saying i'm not tough competition? Uh...Yah....... :D oh, no you didn't. fielder waits until the fourth inning to hit his nightly homerun. that's borderline unacceptable.
  5. This is nice. I haven't been in the lead in weeks. :D My team seems to play better against tougher competition. are you saying i'm not tough competition?
  6. i'd prefer it to be a lefty slugging better than .390.
  7. how the [expletive] did that get out?? one out away from salvaging at least a slightly below shitty start.
  8. brenly gets cramps in his feet while in bed. does that qualify him for the bullpen?
  9. as long as you say it, it's true. the bullpen is a strength and soriano's one of the best players in the game. done and done.
  10. you and them both. nice ab, aramis. Even though '02 sucked, I felt optimistic w/Hendry and a new manager as well as Prior, Z, etc. Now, I feel nada towards this team. maybe I should go to work for another team. really, I see no hope for this team present or future. yeah...terrible farm system, terrible gm, a bunch of huge, long contracts for not very good players.
  11. you and them both. nice ab, aramis.
  12. who made the bigger mistake? me keeping soriano over vlad or the cubs giving him a bagillion dollars over 22 years? to quote gob, i've made a huge mistake.
  13. yep. thanks for that. three SP's on my bench -- 57 points. three SP's in my lineup -- -2.
  14. And it's thanks to one of our numerous trades that you had Hanley. i remember at the time i didn't really want him. he's turned into a much better player than i thought he'd be.
  15. I don't think prospects should count here as those guys may or may not turn out to be great - or even average. Hell, even Gordon hasn't looked so hot so far. yeah, that's what i was thinking too...just guys who currently really good. add fielder to your list of exempt guys in the top 30. he's the highest scoring exempt batter. fielder's actually the sixth highest scoring batter overall, and he'll move up after today. if i had to choose one exempt hitter, it'd be fielder or hanley...and i had hanley last year too...
  16. something stupid yeah look out, now he's on pace for the mid-teens... No kidding...4 HR/178 ABs doesn't deserve a "pwning." you're talking to a guy who supports his argument for floyd with video of one of his two homeruns. so four kinda seems like a lot to him.
  17. i want to punish total bases, but i think -1 is too harsh. i vote for .5 or .75. prince fielder is awesome.
  18. reviewing my atrocious draft, i realized i was pretty fortunate to have good exempt players. so who does everyone think are the best exempt players in the league? i have four good ones in fielder, papelbon, hill and martin. i would supsect that fielder and papelbon may be among the 10-15 best in the league, but i can't think of all the good ones. thoughts?
  19. jd drew -- sucked myers -- sucked, demoted, injured smoltz -- very good, but battling injuries cordero -- sucked bush -- sucked big time burke -- sucked, released ensberg -- sucked, benched by stros, released wickman -- traded for lilly :D derosa -- meh the best thing i got out of this draft was wickman only b/c i traded him for lilly. theriot in the 16th round may be my best pick. good thing i had a very good bunch of keepers.
  20. damn...my two starts so far...2.25 points. the two starts from pitchers i have on my bench...around 50 points. bad news for the cubs tonight since i didn't start mitre.
