  1. QFT... I'm assuming this is Sean Gallagher right? Who gets sent down? Is this a trade precursor? Yeah, it's definitely Gallagher and I know peoriachiefs39 is friends with Sean, but I am still really surprised. I wonder what's going to happen. Trade maybe or who's sent down? Guess we'll have to wait and see tonight. Not friend, peoriachiefs39 is Sean's dad. what a darth vader moment! wonder if z's hurt...
  2. you can do all that stuff, so it does make sense. assuming perkins still fell below the minor league limits you could have put him in your minors.
  3. Yep. That's the way it should be. If you are lucky enough to grab a guy before he gets the call, you can keep him in your minors. It makes zero sense to allow current major league players to be picked up off of free agency and stashed in the minors. ok, so what if i traded him to raw today? what would raw be allowed to do with him? and what if he wasn't in the database until after he got called up?
  4. also, what if i were to trade escobar to raw and you were you were to trade sonnanstine to raw? would he be allowed to keep sonnanstine in the minors, but not escobar? it wouldn't make sense for raw to be forced to keep escobar on his major league roster when he had nothing to do with me picking him up off free agency.
  5. so even though sonnanstine and escobar are both in the bigs, you should be able to keep sonnanstine in the minors just b/c you happened to pick him up while he was still in the minors? even though neither one of them has passed the minor league limits? i don't think that makes any sense. not only would that be very difficult to police, but there are guys who don't get added to the database until they are called up...under your theory, those guys would never be able to be considered minor leaguers?
  6. it may be time for me to start trusting ol' mitre.
  7. you can have anybody who meets the minor league requirements on your minor league roster. for instance, sonnanstine is starting for the drays this week, but you can keep him on your minor league roster until he exceeds the minor league limits.
  8. it's hard to be too mad at a draft that gets you a top of the rotation starter in the 4th round...but this draft does it. yuck.
  9. great game going on between oakland and boston. kendall probably needs to get drilled in the back after that tag on pedroia.
  10. boof! glad to see the power surge i had last week has continued. time for soriano to start making up for lost time.
  11. i didn't realize there was anything else to like about him.
  12. i don't care what brenly and len say, marquis looked like absolute [expletive] tonight. i'm afraid he's about to start sucking hard. did anyone catch that missed 3rd strike to jenkins? granted, barrett should have caught it, but marquis honestly missed his spot by five feet.
  13. that's how you win more games than jason schmidt, makr mulder and sandy koufax combined over the past five years (or whatever it is hendry was spouting).
  14. possibly the ugliest two scoreless innings ever pitched.
  15. As a major league catcher, you have to stop that. And it's not like it's a rare occurence or anything. That's his 8th passed ball of the year. Keep in mind it's only June 3rd. What?! Marquis missed by 3 feet. You stop a 90 mph pitch where you transition your wrist completely the other way. he missed by more than three feet. barrett was half standing with the glove at his face, and the ball was nearly in the dirt. marquis is beyond lucky so far tonight.
  16. not saying that barrett shouldn't have caught that, but marquis missed his spot by literally five feet. why does jones look like he's never played baseball before -- on the field and at the plate?
  17. if hendry trades murton simply because he can't find anyone to take jones, he truly is the worst gm around.
  18. yeah, it didn't look to me like barrett was pointing at the scoreboard, but i couldn't figure out what he was pointing at.
  19. 2nd rate among first baseman. Ranking anywhere from 20-9 among qualified 1B in OPS. 200 OPS points off the leaders. That is 2nd rate. You're far too generous if you think that's an elite 1B. Defense matters to bud! defense at 1b doesn't matter that much. bud. Ha ok how so? if it's that important, why is it the place to put fat, unathletic guys who don't have another position? it's clearly the easiest defensive position to play.
  20. 2nd rate among first baseman. Ranking anywhere from 20-9 among qualified 1B in OPS. 200 OPS points off the leaders. That is 2nd rate. You're far too generous if you think that's an elite 1B. Defense matters to bud! defense at 1b doesn't matter that much. bud.
  21. that's a really stupid article. the writer criticizes lou for saying this... and then says this... ...which is exactly what lou was saying.
  22. that's better than the arod + melky + multiple young arms for buehrle + crede trade phil rogers proposed.
  23. fantasy baseball sucks.
  24. nice cut. well, that was a hotly contested fantasty baseball matchup. usually doesn't go down to the wire like that with dueling closers in the late game...even facing the other team's hitters with the game on the line. honestly though, the most important thing is that jd drew was safely tucked in bed by 8:30, tummy full, wearing his jammies and spooning with his [expletive] ass brother.
