    Man with the baseball acumen on this site, one would think the manager could be responsible for 40 losses a year on his own. :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: Ohman faced, what, 5 righties, including 2 after he gave up a shoulda-been-homer? Gallagher was ready? It was plain stupid managing. I defy you to come up with a defense for what happened there. Exactly. How about one time we actually call a squeeze play in the bottom of the inning late in the game when we have bases loaded and no out. Instead, the obligatory pissing down the leg will suffice. yeah, just what a team that can't execute EVER needs to be doing...trying to get a squeeze down. like that wouldn't turn into a complete disaster.

    this loss really sums up the 2007 season. stupid baserunning, stupid mistakes by hill, horrible defense, swinging at crap all throughout extra innings, the offense not executing when they had runners on base, piniella misusing ohman...so on and so on...

    That ball was right there, Barrett didn't catch it The ball rolled in there and Barrett could've bounced it off the electronic sign and ran back to tag him out if Jones threw the ball right away rather than holding it with a guy rounding 3rd. Lou sucks too for leaving in Ohman for no damn reason. I didn't need to blame Barrett cause I knew the usual parade would be out to nail him to the cross. Barrett sucks behind the plate. He just needed to block the ball instead of letting it squirt away. He had ALL DAY to tag him. no one's denying barrett screwed up. but the throw was awful too. this whole team is awful, really.

    Um, no. Those 9 pitches he just took in his AB ran Washburns count up close to 100, meaning he had to be taken down for a PH. Hopefully we can have better success against another pitcher instead of the 5 freaking hits we have so far. Thanks. yeah, i'm sure those four extra pitches were what made the difference since he was due up 2nd in the inning. your defense of izturis is as irrational as your hatred for barrett.

    damn it, now hill can't get the win. he's never going to get to the ASG.

    it's hard to get upset about 6 2/3 innings and 3 runs, but the balk and the hit to the pitcher really killed hill. but the cubs owe it to hill to get him a win when he really hasn't pitched that well.

    after a spell of absolutely crappiness, hill looks pretty good right now. he's only at about 75 pitches.
