yeah, because wuertz sucked when barrett was catching him. 112 era+ in '05 and a 174 era+ in '06. thank goodness soto's here to turn that trainwreck around.

yeah, we will. the new catchers can't hit and the pitching staff has performed just about the same as it did w/ barrett. so we do know that it's coincidence.

I thought the prevailing sentiment was to stay far away from Zito, though he certainly had supporters. Given the differences in opinions by the people here, nothing Hendry does will go un-blasted. when you have a payroll nearing $100 mil and you struggle to reach .500, the gm is going to get blasted...deservedly. i have a hard time feeling sorry for hendry given how the team has performed since 2004.

the problem is, there's no rhyme or reason as to when the guys get added. hell, a bunch of those guys haven't even signed yet, have they? to me, it's just stupid to have those guys in the database. stupid. and there are guys that have signed that aren't in there. doesn't make any sense.

wait...so you're telling me that a squatting guy holding a stationary mitt doesn't have much of an effect on how a guy throwing a ball 60 feet away performs? now i've heard it all.

you didn't really think that. come on. also, i'd like to declare left field a defensive position. and third base is an offensive position. second base is half and half. right field is like 2/5 offense, 2/5 defense, 1/5 semi-sweet chocolate chips. centerfield is almost entirely moxie.

says who? and it was pretty good before barrett's departure. and the last couple seasons when barrett was catching. well, that settles it then. also, izturis batted second today, so i guess we better leave him there all season.

and zero hits. seriously, the catching is a problem. i can't believe people are like "oh well, we're winning, so it's ok." it's gonna catch up to them. They don't have zero hits but ok. really? i'm gonna have to fire someone on my research staff...
