  1. well, because i win so much, it hits me extra hard when i lose because i'm not used to it. makes sense to me.
  2. this thread is just falling apart at the seams.
  3. i haven't heard anything about hill's status. he was put on the 7 day DL, so i'm sure he's eligible to come off. is he still hurting or are they just giving him additional rest?
  4. 14 homers for me last week, 1 this week. blah.
  5. well, yeah, 33.5 points for andrew miller, obviously. and [expletive], let's get buerhle and his 5.20 era and 1.50 whip in on the act too. why not.
  6. You're a real class act. I'll buy you a Funk & Wagnall's--you're such a witty guy! i don't know what that is, but i'll assume it's from the 1950's and politely decline. or should i "smartly" decline...? You're a law school grad who can't decode a common usage of "smart" really? And you think that "foolish" is the antonym in this case? since the usage of the word "smart" made no sense, i didn't know exactly what the proper antonym was. sorry.
  7. sounds like brandon inge is a little bitter.
  8. they were all over the place at busch. and they passed them out during the game.
  9. they rust out before they wear out. wow. may be my new favorite baker line.
  10. i figured i would only hear this type of thing from an obnoxious red sox fanboy.
  11. Maybe he'll take you to the prom if you ask nicely. oh burn. Lets please stop this gentlemen. totally my bad. sorry i posted a baseball stat, was personally attacked, and then took the high road. won't happen again.

  14. comcast, easily. the games are in HD and my buddy doesn't get comcast through his cable, so it gives me a feeling of superiority.
  15. thanks for the scouting reports, geniuses. hill was, without a doubt, the best cubs pitcher from mid-2006 through 2007. that's a long period of time and a lot of starts (40+). and he was unquestionably great during that time. i realize he's had problems this year, but they are talking about him like he's some kind of project who has never had any kind of success...and it seems as though the chances of him making it back to the big league team by the ASB are virtually none. i completely understand that he's struggled this year. without a doubt. but if any other team demoted and subsequently buried a guy who had been their best starter over the span of 1 1/2 seasons after really only two bad starts, people here would be scratching their heads. but because he's on the cubs, everyone wants immediate results and has no patience, and his demotion doesn't seem strange.
  16. what's the difference between progressing smartly through the system and progressing foolishly through the system?
  17. it's like 2006 and 2007 never happened. the cubs' feelings on hill are just weird...can't figure it out.
  18. well, you did quote my post. :D soriano finishes with 61.75 for the week. what's the single week record for an individual player?
  19. are you saying my team's not good, i don't really think my team is good, or i said i was giving up?
  20. i have a lot of points. don, you actually had a very good week...you just ran into my team's inevitable "getting its [expletive] together" week.
  21. 52 points and counting for soriano. wow.
  22. after the first trainer visit, the announcer mentioned that hill bent down like he was touching his toes and theorized it may be something with his back. but doesn't he do that on the mound fairly often?
  23. bloop single scores two. trainer back out again, and hill is done. wow, what a disaster.
  24. trainer out to see hill. uh oh.
