  1. my pitching? my top four starters have 532.5 points. your top four have 450. and while nothing's a given, i don't think anyone would have predicted hill and liriano (my project 2/3/4ish guys) to be in AAA on 5/12. hill especially has killed me.
  2. I don't take anymore pleasure in you losing than I do anyone else in my division. It would be interesting to see you and Tim become sellers, because you guys have some good guys to sell. which is why it's very frustrating to be losing. you'd think good guys to sell would = lots of points and victories.
  3. i'm glad everyone takes such pleasure in seeing me lose. teix gets hurt and burnett looks like he may be finally getting his act together. seems about right.
  4. could be. though you and i both have a number of guys who have been hurt, unexpectedly terrible or both (ie my top three keepers from last year -- rollins, fielder, soriano). by the way, i feel your pain on swisher and verlander. killing me in my other league.
  5. and my good fortune continues as teixera leaves with an injury. i like to see my week take a turn for the worse before noon on monday. i'll be replacing him with somebody if he's going to miss time.
  6. i think hill should be starting on friday, but i'd rather have gallagher out there than lieber, so i guess that's something.
  7. and [expletive] you tim wakefield. i picked him up in my other league because i needed the start. he shits himself just enough to [expletive] over my other team, but not quite enough to [expletive] over HBC. [expletive].
  8. [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]
  9. [expletive] [expletive] wakefield gets an earned run taken away from him because of a passed ball. [expletive] THIS [expletive] [expletive].
  10. what a [expletive] ridiculous end to the week. i think it's a sign that i'm supposed to quit the league. [expletive].
  11. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. If I had started Bannister (today) and Jackson instead of McGowan (yesterday) and Santana (today) I'd have about 90 more points and an easy win. yeah, but you'd never do that because jackson and bannister are pretty meh and those other guys are good.
  12. but, but, but... he has 9k's! you're doing that not-at-all tired, completely hilarious green font thing like the k's don't, in part, cancel out some of the harm from the walks, but they do. bring him back up. I don't see how anyone can expect him to be successful if he keeps walking this many guys. At the big league level more guys can hit breaking balls so I don't think that the K's are necessarilly reflective of what he would do here. really? he finished 5th in the NL in k's in 2007. interesting that the cubs aren't the only people who have apparently forgotten hill's '07.
  13. quick recap of my catching history. last year i had soto (awesome, with exemptions), martin (awesome, with exemptions) and towles (potential to be awesome, with exemptions). now i'm left with towles, who is hitting under .200 and splitting time with brad frappin' ausmus. i may have opted to keep the wrong one. at least soto brought me uggla, who is awesome. if i had started demp instead of sanchez, i would be up 20 right now. damn.

  16. 5 2/3 ip, 3 h, 4 bb, 0 r, 8 k's. 92 pitches, 52 strikes. yeah, he walked more than you'd like, but it's cancelled out by his ability to strike guys out and not give up hits. bring him back up.
  17. good to have rollins back.
  18. That's pretty poor reasoning. really? why? they've lost every tinkered-with game. if i remember correctly, they shuffled the rotation to allow marquis (and not hill) to start against the brewers. they lost. hill was then nine days removed from his last start when he threw against the cardinals. they lost that game. and lieber, who took hill's spot in the rotation, got battered today. they lost. you really don't see how this rotation shuffle hurt the cubs? I don't think it's the reason they're 3-6. and i didn't say it was the reason. But your argument certainly implied it. no it didn't.
  19. fixed. anyway, what about gay male reporters going into male locker rooms or gay female reporters going into locker rooms? if straight women are concerned about men going into their locker rooms for fear of being leered at, shouldn't they also be worried about gay women coming into the locker room and doing just that? who cares.

  22. the male athletes don't care if a woman reporter sees them half-naked, the women athletes do care if a male reporter sees them half-naked. it's not that confusing. anyway, unless you're a professional athlete or a reporter, i don't know why your opinion even matters. it has nothing to do with you.
