i'm sick of this "he's so good as a swingman, you hate to start him" idea. i beat johan santana would be pretty good as a swing man...they should probably use him there. because nothing's more important than the guy that eats up three innings in a 9-2 loss.

That's a given considering USC blew out Ohio State and Penn State who beat Ohio State (who Texas could barely beat). One away game that they weren't up for cost USC the National Championship. USC 35 - 10 over Texas. texas wasn't "up for" the game last night though...and they still won! against a top 10 team! texas 42 - 13 over usc.

larsen seems like a bitter old dick. there was an espn story about him when he came to feller's museum in iowa and he came off like an a-hole in that story too.

if you give up big plays early but you are able to stop those big plays later, it is a fact that the early big plays were flukes. kinda like fumbles, missed PATs and wins/losses. really, football games are made up of a series of coin tosses.

i liked how the announcers were pretending like usc's loss to osu didn't happen. they were acting like they could barely wrap their head around usc's greatness.

After that late season game last year in which some analyst (Sutcliffe?) was pointing out how Hill was changing his catching stance based on the type of pitch to be thrown, I don't want ol' Koyie anywhere near a meaningful Cubs game, unless he's playing for the other team. yeah, because that's a mistake that absolutely cannot be corrected.
