    Thanks, Jim Yes because the bench was so much better in this situation last year? If this happen last year we would have had DeRosa at 3rd, Fontenot at 2b, Reed in CF and Fukudome in RF. With say Edmonds and Ramirez out of the line-up. With the bench being Cedeno and Ward. Today Miles at 2b, Fontenot at 3rd, Johnson in CF and Fukudome in RF. With the bench being Gathright and Hoffpauir. The difference is a back up infielder instead of a back up outfielder. Sure Miles in the everyday line-up over Fontenot is weaker, but Hoffpauir on the bench over Ward or Cedeno is actually stronger. So if there is a difference today it's that we have a back up poor hitting outfielder then poor hitting back up infielder. i agree. because the bench was so bad last year i'm willing to give hendry a pass on building such a bad bench this year. in fact, i'll go so far as to say good job, hendry. ?

    pretty big win for me early in the season. raw is always among my competition for a playoff spot, so to get a h2h win under my belt this early is kinda nice.

    wow, it looked like i was done for, but then balfour comes in an 11-0 game and doesn't get a single guy out (-14.5) and jenks gets a save despite the white sox starting the 9th up 6-1. i'm up by enough where i don't even need dempster to pitch like crap tonight to win.

    I dunno, how often should you expect a random sampling of 750 healthy, in shape 20-40 year olds to die during a 6 month period? 750 healthy, financially well off 20-40 year olds in America, nonetheless. i don't think a person's financial status or arm strength would save them in a car crash.

    juan, any way uehara can be made a SP by tomorrow? i have no idea why he's listed as a reliever. i'm assuming i can just stick him in there as a RP for his start tomorrow if needed?

    Heilman is 1.33 career and 1.59 last year, and people insist that he's got great stuff. Clement's WHIP was always high despite great "stuff". I don't think a high WHIP corrrelates to lesser stuff. at least those guys were posting those whips in the big leagues.

    i haven't seen a whole lot of patton, but i find it hard to believe that a guy who posted whips of 1.38 and 1.58 the last two seasons as a 24/25 year old in high A has better "stuff" than gaudin.
