  1. You are probably right. But, if you look at the sticky you started up above in this forum on Extra Starts, you started that thread on June 8th. Rules probably shouldn't change midseason, but sometimes they do. ;) Do we wait until the end of the season to decide how to punish a manager who still hasn't sent in their league fees? Do we wait until the end of the season to do something about a manager who leaves active players on the DL all year long? Do we create a rule that actually says no rule changes will be made midseason? I think the answer is no to all of these things. those are all completely, 100% different than what you tried to do. enough already.
  2. sounds good to me.
  3. do you "hate" to bring it up? because you sure bring it up ALL THE [expletive] TIME. he netted me like 20 points for an entire season the year i got to keep him. give it up. also, i don't think you know what the word "hypocrisy" means.
  4. wow. first of all, i'm not trying to attack your integrity. we're playing fantasy baseball...i don't know if such a thing is possible in that context. i mean, seriously...fantasy baseball. on the same note, don't get too worked up about abusing your "power," because, again, fantasy baseball...not, i don't know, congress. also, why are we to assume that i'm the problem? i mean, no offense (though i'm sure you'll take some), you just acknowledged you got kicked out of another league. i bitched half-heartedly about a rule change and within like two posts you were talking to me like you were my boss and threatening to kick me out of the league.
  5. and what would the grounds for kicking me out be again? for having an issue with a rule change you randomly made mid-season that you admittedly intended to benefit you? and that at least one other person had a problem with? also, don't know what makes you think you can just kick me out of the league. i believe i've been in this league just as long as you have and have never neglected my team, missed the draft, failed to make payments, etc. people bitch about stuff all the time and i don't see you threatening to kick them out.
  6. well, you've got a taker on your offer, so quit pretending like the weight of this burdensome responsibility is crushing your soul. roster fixed.
  7. i'll be the commissioner since it's such a burden on you. switch it over. let me know when you've done it.
  8. the rule better get changed back because i'm leaving the office now and won't be back before the cubs game starts at 1:20.
  9. leave the new rule. i said i was fine with it. quit being a baby.
  10. on an unrelated note, i'd like to propose a rule change of my own. full disclosure, it probably has to do with adrian gonzalez maybe playing a game in the outfield this week.
  11. no, leave the new rule. i like it.
  12. yeah, i wouldn't want to discuss the specifics of this "roster crunch" if i were you either. this is like the 2,342,903,420,394th worst roster crunch i've ever run across.
  13. no, i wouldn't want you to have to drop brandon webb.
  14. brandon webb is the one maxing out your DL? are you [expletive] kidding me???? that guy has elbow cancer or some [expletive]. lol, just [expletive] drop him...oh my goodness. also, put ben revere in your minor leagues and play ortiz at U. this is your unmanageable roster crunch??????
  15. just give me back ey jr and we'll call it even. oh, and i get to keep ben sheets on my DL for all eternity.
  16. yeah, and i lost jake peavy. and i've had chipper jones take 3 days off while in my active lineup. and tommy hanson has been in my lineup last week even though he's hurt. and so on and so on and so on. everybody has had crap like this happen, so i find it hard to feel too sorry for you. nobody else got to just give themselves extra DL spots when it happened.
  17. yeah, you continue to say this, but i never said i felt the rule needed to change. so you can put that argument away because it makes no sense.
  18. oh, here come the threats to kick me out. i pay on time and tend to my lineup every week, which is obviously more than a lot of others in this league can say. sorry i pointed out the fact that you changed a rule mid-season because it benefitted you. correct me if that is in any way inaccurate. i don't think that is against the rules and guidelines of this league. if anything, i'm jealous...i wish i had the power to do that when i had to drop peavy.
  19. just read this and think of how [expletive] dumb it sounds. yeah, i realized this DL issue was really starting to become a problem for me, so i was like, yeah, i'll just go ahead and change it. didn't really impact me the first 1,000 times others complained about it, but man it really hit home when i was actually effected by it.
  20. Why didn't you say something during that point, Adam? Where was your proposal? i didn't say anything because the rules are the rules, and it would be pretty dumb to change them mid-season, especially when i would only have wanted them changed because it effected me. right. but you didn't make the change until it really helped you. just look at this from someone's perspective other than your own. people have been managing roster crunches all year with injuries/guys on the DL. i just dropped a pretty good pitcher last week because of this issue. people have brought this up several times over the course of the season. then it effects the commissioner and, what do you know, the rule is immediately changed. you have to admit that seems pretty ridiculous when it's laid out like that.
  21. i have no problem with the rule change, but this isn't the first time it's come up. but as soon as it becomes an issue for you, the rule just gets changed. i had to drop jake peavy 10 DAYS AGO because of my roster crunch. then someone picked him up and traded him for a bunch of draft picks. that pisses me off and is complete [expletive]. sure wish your precious roster crunch would have coincided with peavy's injury a little better.
  22. lol, brian has a roster crunch, so he just changes the rule. i guess that worked out pretty well for him.
  23. ps...there is NO WAY you are dumping contracts AND getting good prospects for zambrano/soriano. you're probably not doing either, actually.
  24. but yeah, the cubs could DEFINITELY trade soto for jonathan lucroy if that's what you're suggesting.
  25. Looking at the career line seems pretty unhelpful with a guy like Soto. Like you said, he's been either tolerable or terrific (or hurt). He's never had a season that's simply good. It's always been well above or well below that. One would have to imagine that such extreme volatility would lower his value to other teams. man, you are never right.
