  1. Scott Frazier and Carlos Rodriguez out of the pen now. Huh. And Yeiler Peguero continues his quest for notability 2-3 with 2 BB, bringing him to .338/.457/.481 with 16 BB/9 K. Still a SSS, but that BB/K is making him really intriguing.
  2. One thing to take into consideration before we go window shopping is that if the trade deadline were tomorrow, the only clear cut sellers would be the Phillies and Brewers. There's the Marlin's but other than the quietly resurgent Dan Haren, the ghost of Ichiro Suzuki, and the injured Morse and Parra, the rest of their team are the guys that they'll want to build around. Other than that, there are a lot of teams that are within range of that of a WC ticket. Even the A's have crept within 7. Obviously a lot can happen between not and the end of July, but at this moment, it's a sellers market. Big time.
  3. I would love to have Chris Sale. I think there's approximately 0.01% chance the Sox trade him. In the event that they do trade him, It would take a different set of players than what you've listed here. It's very likely that the best player that comes back in a deal for Sale needs to be better/more valuable than Schwarber, which for the Cubs means Russell, maybe Baez or Castro if this trade happens in the offseason and they can rehab(physically in Baez's case) their value a bit. You can also throw Bryant in that category with Russell, but Bryant has an even less chance of getting traded than Sale. aside from rizzo russell and bryant i'd give em what it takes. That's like saying I want a Lamborghini. Aside from money, I'd give em whatever it takes.
  4. He added another 10 today. Oh, and his pitch count over that course (including today) 109 110 109 113 120 112 119 125 111 111
  5. I honestly can't tell if you like Chris Sale or not. I honestly can't tell if he thinks nobody else knows Chris Sale is absurdly good and on a great contract. i imagine you guys do, and the title of the thread is "WHATS YOUR WISH LIST FOR THE TRADE DEADLINE" and so i guess i cant wish . thanks [expletive]. In that case, sign me up for Sale, Archer, Stanton, Harper, and Trout. Oh, and I guess I'll take Cain while I'm here.
  6. Syndergaard - for Castro? Why not ask them to throw in Matt Harvey, too? The fantasy bubble Cub fans are living in when it comes to Castro's lack of value never fails to astonish Well of course Syndergaard isn't enough for Castro, but Harvey on top of that is a bit far. There, that's better.
  7. Null struck out the side in his inning and Vogelbach with a 3 run HR for AA.
  8. We're represented well in tonight's All Star Games: AA: Pitchers: Black Batista Francescan Pena Catcher Contreras C Schwarber C (obviously won't be there) Large Man: Vogelbach A+ Pitchers: Underwood Martinez Infield: Candelerio Outfield: Zagunis The SP will be former Cubs prospect Zack Godley. Who's 25. A Pitchers: Null (SP) Farris Catcher: Brockmeyer Infield: Torres Outfield: Burks
  9. Dillon Maples 7th: K. K. K. Dillon Maples 8th: 1B. HBP. HBP. 2B. Done. But he didn't walk anyone. Right?
  10. Kris Bryant and our bullpen just beat Clayton Kershaw and The Dodgers.
  11. Cannot stand how he pitches (Makes Steve Trachsel look like Mark Buehrle), but he is pretty decent most of the time. Welcome. Hope you're better than the first 16 Tims we've had. http://dicemonkey.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/TimTheEnchanter.jpg
  12. That's probably the best non trade course of action. Russell at leadoff. Schwarber in LF, Szczur/Alcantara in CF and Coghlan in RF is my preference. Defense be damned Speaking of defense, there is Villanueva.
  13. That's probably the best non trade course of action. Russell at leadoff.
  14. With the AA All Star Break, the timing could be right for Turner to step into Wada's spot if need be.
  15. how the [expletive] is this possible Because I was 25 years old and left the house even when I didn't have to. Would you believe I had no idea what the [expletive] a Twilight Sparkle or a Pinky Pie was?
  16. I feel as though the start of the AZL season has been very much glossed over. And I get that now that we have a big league team, it's not as easy (or necessary) to keep up with the low levels. But there are a handful of notable-ish guys on fbe roster. Carlos A. Rodriguez who's owned the DSL and VSL but didn't fare so well in his AZL stint a few years back. Dylan Cease Rehabbing Trey Masek and Scott Frazier Marcelo Carrano, who we acquired for Jeff Baker and is apparently still around Wladimir Galindo, who was pretty impressive in his first pro season last year 2011 1.6MM IFA catcher Mark Malave, now a pitcher. He's only 20, so who knows. And a handful of other DSL mainstays, Ronny Alcala, Jenner Emmetario, Roberto Caro, and Jose "Not to be Confused with Juan Paniaqua" Paniagua.
  17. Another thing that should be taken into consideration is that in addition to an awful team and farm system, Epstein inherited a ravenous fan base who were legitimately expecting an overnight turn around. Lest we forget, even some of NSBB's best and brightest were expecting something along the lines of Pujols or Fielder AND CJ Wilson AND a Ramirez extension and then some. During his press conference, in which people were expecting something glorious, he didn't sugar coat anything; he matter-of-factly stated exactly what he was going to do, and that it was going to take time. And that, in its own took some cohones.
  18. I sometimes wonder what's turned you so edgy lately. I don't think it's a desire to fit in with the cool kids. Maybe it's a life event, but sometimes I suspect that you get the most aggressive when the gap widens between what you want to believe and what you deep-down suspect is true. There are no cool kids anymore, we're all 30 year old married adults. You just suck at existing And FWIW, if there's one thing less cool than 30 (or in some cases 38 :-" ) year old, married adults sitting around and posting about baseball, it's single, twenty somethings sitting around and posting about baseball.
  19. So far, Jimenez 2-4 with 4 RBI, Happ with a 2B, and Jose Paulino, who I remember was somewhat of a thing a few years ago in DSL given up 2H 0 R, 0/6 BB/K through 5.
  20. As Sickels has said, beyond the top 10-15 in most farm systems, it's such a crapshoot that few analysts lists are going to be the same. You'd think that someone like Dunston, Maples, or Paniagua with something resembling a ceiling would be ahead of him, but I guess not.
  21. Please, do intentionally walk Chris Denorfia and load the bases for Schwarber with 0 out.
  22. must be tough having to think back to 2001 or 2008 to remember your last world series win I never get this kind of thinking. The whole be grateful that you've won a championship in your lifetime mindset. Let me tell you, when the 2006 White Sox turned to [expletive], their fans didn't think in terms of hey, it's cool. We'll get them last year. The Curse of the Bambino has been broken 3 fold, and Red Sox fans are no happier than they were when Aaron "Freaking" Boone shattered their hopes about an hour after our own. On the other side of that coin, I have to laugh at Brewer fans who harp on the 100 years plus [expletive] despite 1 World Series appearance and 4 playoff appearances in their team's 45 (46 if you count the Pilots) year history. Short version: fans like to see their team be good whether they won it all 1 year or 107 years ago. oh my [expletive] lord Just a random rant based not upon the above post so much as [expletive] you hear in general. You know, the Cubs fans in their 30s-40s who have somehow been waiting over a century for a championship. And don't act like you've never heard anyone say that type of thing.
