  1. Lately it's really just been Rosscup. Grimm, Strop, Motte and Russell have been solid. Rondon has been shaky but I'm not overly worried about him. Jackson/Wood are what they are. Didn't see this game, but doesn't look like the pen was to blame for this. Schlitter and Coke were pretty brutal, but that the brutality was magnified by Maddon entrusting them at the wrong time. But how bullpen's work. Hopefully, you can start the season with 3 guys on whom you can truly rely, and another 2 who can establish themselves as somewhat reliable. The rest is going to be a revolving door of rookies and mop ups.
  2. Sontensei is the NSBB equivalent of those Facebook spam links that you know are going to be a complete waste of your time, but you simply can't resist. Many would agree that perhaps I'm not one to talk, but still.
  3. We need a new 2nd baseman. Russell is great when he's on, but I think trading for another 2nd baseman would make the infield deeper.
  4. Motte's been quietly good for several weeks now. Besides, now that the poison's out of the well, pen hasn't been the problem lately. Sure, if we could get someone like Papelbon or O'Day, great. But Aardsma would probably be a lateral move at best over even Jackson.
  5. I know 5 games and 19 AB doesn't even register as a sample size, but whatever a Yeiler Peguero is, it's 17, plays SS, and has a line of .526/640/.684/1.324 with 6 BB, 0 K, and 4SB.
  6. Cael Brockeyer absolutely has a chance to be an "A" prospect by the end of the season. Now spread the word to every GM in baseball.
  7. we also post the name of the player when someone does something good Geovany Soto.
  8. David Ross is everything that Jim Hendry kept telling himself that Koyie Hill was.
  9. Make that 0-5 with 4 K's. Pretty horrible night for him. But it's only one night.
  10. [expletive] it. [expletive] it. Just [expletive] it. Who's selling and whadda they got? Reddick? Zobrist? Car-Go (either one?) [expletive] it, I'll take em all.
  11. [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]
  12. That's all I can think about. Up 1-0 with bases loaded and nobody out, that was the chance for this anemic offense to score some actual runs. On the other side of that coin, the Nats are probably thinking about the bottom of the 6th when they had the bases loaded, 1 out, and Jesus coming to bat.
  13. But one of these guys got cheated on. Am I right? This guy knows what I'm talkng about. This guy too
  14. I never thought I'd be saying this sans green font, but thank God Chris Denorfia's coming back soon.
  15. [expletive] if I know. Those with particularly weak systems. But he may very well been for us when Theo first took over, and I'm sure there are some systems out there in a similar condition. Milwaukee and Detroit come to mind.

  17. Despite not being anywhere near a top 100 prospect? I meant in several teams' farm systems. Not overall.
  18. Ahh I read somewhere that he was out for 6 weeks. 2 to 3 weeks is obviously better but if the Mariners can trade for Trumbo then there's a chance we could pick up someone soon I guess. We certainly could make a move sooner. I don't think they'll base it on Soler unless they really do think there's a chance he'll be out much longer. Or we could just go with Baez and/or Schwarber.
  19. I made peace with the fact that we weren't going to win this game around the 5th inning, so I'm cool with this.
  20. Villanueva with a HR. Giving his age, level, and position, I have to think that he'd be a top 3 prospect in more than just a few farm systems.
  21. This thing where people assume Piazza took PED's is tiresome. But doesn't the same go for pretty every relevant player between 1990-2005 not named Greg Maddux? Unless, of course he's referring to the other kind of PEDmonster, in which case the list is narrowed to Mel Hall.
  22. making a trade makes more sense if you're fighting for a spot. if you're stronger and in a solidified position, it makes less sense. sure so trade away baez schwarber mckinney almora torres and bunch for cueto and chapman and regret it for ten years There lies a happy and very large medium between the two extremes. But I'm pretty sure you knew that.
  23. Sounds like someone who would frequent the Mos Eisley Cantina.
