  1. my long-standing fetishizing of pitchers that hit well factoring that, and the WAR that actually matters, he's like a 2.5-3 win pitcher for his career (and Clayton Richard/Tsuyoshi Wada aren't) and should be exceedingly cheap to acquire Or he could just be this year's Rick Porcello. The name that keeps coming up and everyone hates until someone smart convinces us otherwise. TT, I'm looking in your direction.
  2. Because like everyone else, you kind of forgot he existed? Serious question though; how many success stories are there regarding guys who were converted between pitcher/position player at this point in their minor league career? There are guys like Marmol and Wells who made the jump early on. But other than Rick Ankiel, I can't think of too many who did it after at any point after spending time in AA or above.
  3. Alcantara didn't so much graduate as he flunked out #-o I am curious as to where Edwards and Almora end up though. I can't imagine that Almora would have dropped off the top 100 altogether. Could he?
  4. I enjoyed yesterday. I'd like to do it again today. And then the next 3 days.
  5. SSSS alert: With 1/7 BB/K in 3IP, Greyfer Eregua's at 2/20 through 13.2 IP and a 0.88 WHIP. Speaking of SSS, anyone know of Jesus Carmego? 19 year old AZL pitcher with 3/15 BB/K 0.86 WHiP over 14.2 IP/3 games. Before this year, be pitched 2.1 IP in 1 game for Mexico last year, but that's about it. Not on the International Signee thread either.
  6. You know what, just [expletive] it. Bring in Edwin and let them put up pinball numbers.
  7. I do not know who this man is. Hopefully, it stays that way.
  8. I'm pretty sure there's a law that the Cardinals must always have at least one top 10 pitching prospect.
  9. A few weeks back, he'd have been a perfect fit. But the way the pen's shaping up, I can't imagine them giving up the resources necessary to get him.
  10. Never doubted them. Not even for a moment. Now call me selfish, but what I would truly enjoy is if we were to win again this evening. Perhaps tomorrow as well.
  11. If we lose this, what choice will there be but to rock back and forth and laugh hysterically?
  12. Great, now we don't have any runs left for the rest of the week. Thanks Rizzo. Ass.
  13. He's gone. Honestly, I don't go into game threads a ton these days, and it appears that's where he posted mostly. Only saw it this time cuz someone reported the post. Truthfully, I didn't know what to make of the lad. Not passive or aggressive enough to be passive aggressive, and not controversial enough to be an all out troll. Kind of had the whole MC Pee Pants/Little Brittle thing going, if you know what I mean.
  14. Double header vs. the Cardinals and we're not facing a pair of >5.00 era no name/non-prospects. If we don't win a game, [expletive] it, everyone's fired.
  15. Revisiting this list near mid-season, my sentiment remains mostly the same. The only obvious to protect are Johnson and Black. Vogelbach certainly wouldn't be left unprotected, but my thinking is that he'll have been traded prior to decision time. Candelerio and Torrez are both very young and currently doing very well. If a team really wanted to, they could easily stash them at the end of their bench/bullpen. And depending on how many spots we have available, we might want to protect them. Pineyro, Martinez, Jensen, Paniagua, and Concepcion could all be Rule 5 bait. It would be a shame to lose any of them for nothing, but you can't protect everyone. But a few of them could be used in trades. None of them would fetch much on their own. But they could be enticing as 2nd-5th pieces, depending on the caliber of the deal. To a lesser extent, the same could be said for Francescan, Pugliese, Heesch, Bruno, Amaya, and Rademacher. I suppose any of these guys could be selected by someone looking for something a big league ready-Ish for a try out. And if so, best of luck to them. Unless they're drafted by the Cardinals. In that case, [expletive] them. In terms of the Rule 55, which I admittedly don't get, Wilson Contreres will be protected from that. But that doesn't cost anything but a AAA roster spot. I think. As for Big League Roster spots, Wood will more than likely be non-tendered. Jackson's probably gone one way or another. James Russell, Herrera, Baxter are the only other free spots. Denorfia likely walks as a free agent. Fowler's a free agent, but if not resigned, his spot is likely filled by a big league acquisition. I doubt that Coghlan is non-tendered, but I suppose he could be traded.
  16. What part of you're right, and I never should have questioned you did you not understand?
  17. Chill, this bitch has been all over the Internet for over a month now. Google her. How do you basically miss the point of nearly every post you reply to. It's kind of incredible. Because you're such a standup [expletive] guy Or maybe I just missed the point of that. YOU JUST DID IT AGAIN. Nobody said people can't say horrible [expletive] for a laugh. It should be common sense that posting a pic of a cat shot with a [expletive] arrow is much more [expletive] up. Nobody gives a [expletive] if it's been "all over the internet;" why don't you just start posting crime scene photos, too, you stupid sack of fat. You were saying that a man or men should die later tha.. You know what you're right, and I never should have questioned you.
