  1. the prem is so fast to sack coaches. 8 out of 20 already and its only january. i'm not sacking, nufc was wrong to sack big sam, but these clubs have no patience.
  2. Will the offense be nice? They were the worst in the AL last year. Are Swisher and Cabrera really going to make up that much of a difference? Dont forget about Carlos Quentin, and a full year of Josh Fields. Their offense should be better just by not playing Darrin Erstad so much, but they have no chance in that division. Are they sticking Quentin in center? i think the plan is to play swisher mostly in center. no ****, thanks capt'n obvious. you missed the point try not to take yourself too seriously.

  4. agreed. alardyce is gonna get sacked before the end of the year. at least own played a full 90. in these cup games, i also root for the minnows, especially when the matches are being played at these 15,000 seat stadium.
  5. Marco doesn't seem to post much anymore, but his Huddersfield squad pulled off a little giant slaying in the 3rd round of the FA Cup Saturday. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml;jsessionid=PCA3155Z2COUXQFIQMFSFF4AVCBQ0IV0?xml=/sport/2008/01/06/sfghud106.xml
  6. aston villa keeper scott carson looks like an english version of mark prior. http://img.skysports.com/07/07/295x160/carson_537719.jpg no word on whether he has ever strained his vagina.
  7. Stone's gonna be on the radio with Ed Farmer and Chris Singleton. Farmer's a homer, but obviously can't compare with Hawk. That quote about the rough water, was one he specifically used about the '04 team. Were you referencing that, or is that a coincidence? I was referencing the quote. I guess I ddin't read the thread very well, I thought he was going to be on TV with Hawk and DJ. Nevermind  well, he did fill in for dj on the tv broadcast for a week in the 2007 season.
  8. get ready for some boxing day footie. fsc has a slate of games wednesday. all of the big european leagues are on winter break except england, which loves to double up on fixtures during the x-mas/boxing day/new years period.
  9. espn put together a highlight of all the ridiculous plays ken harvey of the royals was involved in (pinned between the rain tarp and the railing, getting nailed in the face with the ball, etc.) does anybody know it there's a copy of it floating around? has anybody seen what i'm talking about?
  10. 1st round of champions league: http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl/index.html celtic v. barcelona lyon v. man utd. schalke v. porto liverpool v. inter roma v. real madrid arsenal v. milan olympiacos v. chelsea fenerbache v. sevilla two that stick out as best matchers liverpool-inter and arsenal-milan.
  11. ha ha, i was just joking, i can't believe that actually asked him that.
  12. ask him about the mitchell report.
  13. awesome, he's wearing fukudome.
  14. Marshall Marquis  he said major league ready.
  15. Maybe I was in the process of moving or something at the time, but I don't remember that at all. Clearly it's a home run, but what's so special about it? Focus on the Parrot. the kapser/brenly sound effects make it 1000x funner than just the visual.
  16. not a big hockey fan at all, nor a blackhawk fan, but i wanted to point out espn.com's front page main article is about the 'hawks young rookies. hopefully all the changes revitalize the organization. getting recognition from espn is a good start.
  17. keep, i'm not changing mine either.
  18. babe ruth
  19. fabio capello signed on as england manager. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article3048233.ece
  20. i'm really disappointed this is the outcome of mark prior's career in chicago. that said, i find it comically that he's charity work or lack of, is someone a sign that he's somebody that doesn't want to be with the cubs. regardless, i think neither prior or the cubs wanted to continue their relationship.
  21. A team can't get matched up with another team from their same country in the Round of 16 or their same qualifying group. So Liverpool won't get matched up with Porto, Chelsea or Man United. So as of now they could face Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona or Inter Milan. If Sevilla ends up winning Group H they'll be added to the list. So odds are it won't be an easy match in the Round of 16 for Liverpool. don't look at my avatar when reading this... chelsea might be "weak" now, but by the time the round of 16 rolls around, they should be much healthier and i'd put them against anybody left. drogba should sit out of the africa cup and rest his knee, if he's healthy chelsea can make a run at it.
