  1. nitpicking here, the bears traded chris harris to the panthers, at least they got a pick for him.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3246675 not so fast, simple typo.
  3. i remember booker being really pissed when we was traded to the dolphins, maybe he's buried the hatchet and is just looking for a payday.
  4. beautiful, it would be better if england was tuning up for euro 2008 but regardless it'll be cool to watch.
  5. that lineup looks pretty nice to me, but i think drogba will be gone this summer, if/when the special one gets a big time position, drogba will be there.
  6. ha ha...he might as well be holding up a sign that says "please come and get me, milan." Unfortunately I have a hunch it'll be our Chelsea. I hope I'm wrong. That Pepsi wasn't diet. it's amazing how far he's fallen in such a short time. leading up the '06 world cup, he was arguably the best in the world. now, we're both cringing just thinking about him on chelsea. i'm still in the camp that he can be a game changing player but i'm not sure he can do it in england, especially not with chelsea.

  8. fwiw, bruce levine on espn1000 this morning said he "expected" brian roberts to be a cub by the end of the week.
  9. let's hope so. keep the football talk here.
  10. as am i, neck surgery makes me very uneasy, especially when he's already turning 30.
  11. chelsea-liverpool sunday morning at 10 am on fsc. liverpool is almost getting desperate for points, chelsea needs to keep pace with arsenal and man utd. for any chance to win the league. should be a good one.
  12. i'd also really like to see spector gets some pt on either of the side of the backline.
  13. the defense on our set pieces are atrocious.
  14. looked good to me.
  15. wtf happened? stupid espn, show it.
  16. hahahaha amazing.
  17. beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
  18. awesome! now play some solid d gooch.
  19. no dave o'brien, f that. back line looks shaky as usual. jozy makes me very happy about the future of the u.s. team.
  20. during the entire post-game celebration and interviews with the giants players, i couldn't stop laughing at how dumb the players looked with the xxxl championship t-shirts on over their pads.
  21. i already miss him. :(
  22. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=503812&cc=5901 liverpool supporters are making a move to buyout hicks and gillett.
  23. if it was a betting man, i'd put a wager on ronaldo moving to spain this summer. p.s. he's on playing an entire other level than anyone in the prem. if he stays this good, man utd will make a deep run in the champions league.
  24. My question is who is the avg. fan that you are talking about, the Americans? I think if we asked non premier league fans in England they would fully object to this idea. I just don't see the FA Cup declining, and I am not over there to witness it. We are less than two years removed from maybe the greatest FA Cup final in history. It is still the most popular league cup in the world IMO, last year we saw Blackburn and Watford make it to the semi's. To me it looks like we are trying to Americanize something that is really not broken. i've seen numerous articles and stories on sky about the declining popularity and attendance at fa cup matches. i would think a lot of fans in england are just shocked the cup is declining in popularity. as we've said, the fa cup was once the prized jewel of england, no its an after thought for the prem teams and a ridiculous long shot for any lower division team to win. i really like the fa cup as is, but i wouldn't be surprised to see changes made if its continuing to lose its support from the big clubs the next few years.
  25. my seeding argument is largely based on the decline the fa cup has been experiencing over the past few years. having it bracketed will bring another level of excitement for your average fan (as does the ncaa basketball tourney for non-interested college b-ball fans in america). i agree the prem already dominates so, so much of english football. there was much more giant slaying when the economic situation was more level than it is today. now the only chance lower division or non-league teams have in taking down a prem is because prem teams are fielding weak sides and are disinterested in focusing their attention in areas other than doing well/not getting relegated in the prem.
