  1. wow, i'm really stunned briggs re-signed. i'm very happy about it, but also very surprised.
  2. who the hell is going to take on marquis and his albatross of a contract? it's backloaded with the 1st year done, i'm guessing the cubs will have to pick up a chunk of the money to get another team to take him.
  3. what makes you think so? (other then what might seem possible or probable?) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2008/02/piniella-hendry.html
  4. bears are going to trade or release brian griese by tuesday.
  5. there's too many things to be decided before i agree or disagree with this statement, but how many years have we been hearing this about tottenham? they looked pretty damn good going into this season, jol helped pissed that away. they're playing well now, but i'm not sure if they can put it together for a full 38 matches. i'll believe in them as a top 4, when i see it. that's so disappointing but probably true. we've had a chance to creep back into the prem race but gave that away with the draw at pompey. champions league is still a long shot, with a shouldn't have been tough home match against olympiacos next week. we haven't seen a season where chelsea came away empty handed since the mad russian came in (except for ranieri's last season), i'm curious to see if he goes on a spending spree this summer.
  6. orton signed a one year deal through 2009.
  7. boo! though i can't really say i'm upset about losing the league cup.
  8. me please.
  9. I missed it live, but I'm quite glad that FSC decided not to show the gruesome angles that they had. They only replayed the original shot as it happened and you couldn't really see it. Needless to say I probably won't be watching that video. They said it looked really bad, though. haven't watched, nor will i, i have a weak stomach for sports injuries. fsc showed wegner after the match and he was irate about the tackle and injury.
  10. i caught the last five minutes of the match and spector came on west ham. the announcer said it looks like an mls match with all the americans playing. btw, fulham blows terribly.
  11. i like it. this team is many, much bigger holes to worry about than qb. with a one year deal for rex, i won't be surprised to see the bears take a qb on the first day of the draft. i'm speculating griese will be cut, grossman and orton will "battle" for the starting job and the rookie will be the 3rd qb.
  12. 5-17 v. pit bleachers 6-25 v. bal bleachers 7-25 v. fla 429 8-6 v. hou 421
  13. if he's cut, i'd be all over him. if berrian is gone, there's a black hole at receiver. i really don't want to have to draft a receiver early, so finding at least one, maybe two in the free agent market is a must.
  14. they better cut archeluta's underproduced, overpaid ass.
  15. DH?
  16. sounds like ruben brown will be gone too.
  17. did he go irate after getting sent off? he's so whiny.
  18. stallworth might be available.
  19. if this is true, i can see angelo keeping archuleta if he's only costing them 730k. i'm for cutting him, for no other reason than to send a message to the organization. if you suck, you're gone. Archuleta at this point provides no value to the team. Maybe he could do something on special teams, but he essentially is unable to do anything that the safety position requires. I don't see either Angelo or Lovie wanting to hold on to crap because it's cheap. he's absolutely terrible, i'm just unsure why he wasn't cut yesterday.

  21. i wonder if the offers to briggs and berrian are legit offers or are offers for the bears to say they made an offer if they bolt town.
  22. the bears now need to sign someone to tell devin hester where to line up on offense.
  23. moose got cut today and alex brown got extended through 2011, i'm guessing this mark anderson as starter era is put on hold for awhile.
  24. Terrible. DeRosa may be a better defensive SS. you are a bum SouthSideRyan uh oh...battle of the southsiders. we'll find out once and far all, who is more southsideyish.
  25. ha ha, scousers. at anfield, no less. champions league knockout action restarts this week. tuesday liverpool v. inter roma v. real madrid wednesday arsenal v. milan celtic v. barca
