  1. Well, he's 8-7 against them with an ERA of 3.56 and OPS against of 745, compared to a career of 89-90, 4.00 and 735. He did well against them in 2012 and not so well in 2011. It may seem like he gives them fits, but not really anymore than a typical decent pitcher would.
  2. Well, his ceiling may be higher but that's not the same as likely future. Also, isn't a lot of the love simply based on the fact that he's one of the few names everybody has heard of? He was thought of as a top of the draft guy last year, his non-signing was the rare draft related story picked up by the general baseball media. We keep hearing about him at the top, but at the same time we keep hearing how the top of the draft isn't anything special.
  3. Well that seems easy to get around.
  4. What are the limitations with regard to what you can trade away in order to get that space? Can you trade a player and cash for space?
  5. He had a baby!!!!! I wouldn't call it internet stalking when people are putting this stuff out there.
  6. At least some of the purpose, and maybe the primary purpose, is simply to fill out a minor league roster.
  7. The lack of men getting on base in the first place also hurts.
  8. I'd be shocked if the Rockies made that pick with Gray available. It could be his agent telling teams he won't sign with them. I mean, what pitcher wants to go to Colorado? But what about teams thinking he's a risky bet to continue pitching the way he is given his short track record of this kind of success? I'd understand if the Rockies passed on him for those two reasons. It would make sense to me that Colorado would always lean more heavily on bats than arms at the top of the draft. Elite pitchers are unsafe bets to begin with and may be more susceptible to flaming out in that organization. They might as well try and create elite lineups and go for adequate mediocrity in the arms.
  9. while I wouldn't doubt these guys would purposefully call things wrong, that's a stupidly marked outfield wall.
  10. Seriously. You had Castro up with a potential 1/3 1 out situation. How in the effing world does that happen?
  11. July 1 allows for including a potential top end prospect plus 3 full months (including summertime) of play.
  12. I think that same throw on target still misses him, that "good throw" would have had to have been much harder.

  14. These announcers have talked all game about what they perceive to be odd defensive alignments by the Cubs.
  15. Cohen and Hernandez going off on Kingman and how it "seemed that all his homeruns were hit when the Mets were up by 7 or down by 7."
  16. they had a chance to really push Harvey but they've been so aggressive he's right back at a comfortable pitch count
  17. Jackson seems to give up a lot of very solid contact
  18. Sure, but he got there with ease. If an OF runs very far to get to a fly ball but actually does get there and drops it, it is an error.
