  1. Steve Stone: "It would be a pretty close game if Navarro was sitting on the bench"
  2. Who was batting when he said this? He was talking about the expectations for Castro during his at bat last inning then continued with the talk of what they could do with him to replenish the system as the inning went on.
  3. Because CSN and WGN are rotating which games they get.
  4. I'm surrounded by assholes
  5. I heard him talking about Kyuji, and then I heard him talking about failed trades with the Braves but didn't hear what he said about Vizcaino.
  6. Wedge's slash lines in his miserable 4 seasons in the bigs .233.340 .430 .770 9 seasons in the minors .249.347.443.790 He's a manager. Baseball is a strange business. What's your point? A good amount of coaches/managers are guys who were average-to down right awful at the top level of their sport before getting into coaching. My assumption is he meant the guy's numbers were quite dependent on a solid walk rate that kept his OBP quite respectable despite an awful AVG. But then he goes out and downplays the value of patience, which is similar to a lot of other anti-sabr people.
  7. There was a lot of talk that he would appear for the Cubs this season, and I wouldn't assume anybody who follows the system would be up-to-date on what his status was prior to the injury.
  8. That last one looked like a linedrive for about 65 feet.
  9. I thought lefties could hammer the change off lefties. Or maybe that was just Remlinger.
  10. What the F are you doing flailing like that on a 3-1 pitch Rizzo?
  11. It's not TINSTAAPP, it's that I put more value on position players than most people do.
  12. I picked Bryant, but would be happy with any of the top three. The reason I selected Bryant is based mostly on my fear of pitching injuries.
  13. Katie Strang ‏@KatieStrangESPN 3m #NYR BREAKING: John Tortorella has been dismissed as head coach of the Rangers, source confirms
  14. At the very least, his value as a prospect, and therefore as a trading chip, is going to be partially dependent on whether or not he can stick at SS. A season full of errors at obscene rates is going to leave his trade value lower than a season where he was solid. Cubs fans should care about such things.
  15. What people have said is that he could still be a superstar, or he could flame out in AA. But that does not preclude him from being something in the middle.
