  1. Shocked to see ufc in his name
  2. I can understand this, I just hate to think he's being stalled at AAA because of a bad cup of coffee in the majors. It was more like a poisoned cup than a bad cup. But why do you keep ignoring the fact that he's only played 20 games this year because he's been out with injury again? He hasn't been raking for 3 months. He's had a full season at AAA, though, I think you're ignoring that. Most 23 year-olds that do that in their first year of AAA are up at theML level to stay. I understand if they're bringing him along because of the injury, but at some point, it's time to swim. The dude has spent his career getting promotions after brief glimpses of looking good only to level out quickly at the next level. Frankly I'd like to see him perform at a high level in AAA for at least a month straight before giving him his next shot. I see very little reason in bringing him up until September, unless a lot of current major leaguers are dealt away and they need to fill a spot.

  4. I think he can play everyday. But as long as we're wazting seasons, why not find out if he can play corner OF. Vitters turns 24 in a month. If he's going to have a career it's going to peak next year through 2018ish. All of those years will take place prior to him becoming a free agent, and most of it will be without arbitration inflating his salary. Him not racking up service time this year was a good thing. And again, the guy just got back from another long DL stint. He's got 81 PA this season and less than a full season at AAA combined. There is no rush to get him in the major leagues yesterday. Let him actually show something for a prolonged period for the first time in his career before a promotion.
  5. Valbuena is young, and Valbuena is an everyday major leaguer. Yeah, the love for Valbuena is [expletive] weird, too. He's had a good half of a season, but he's been garbage up until this point. He's over 600 PA as a Cub and has 3.4 fWAR in that time. It's not a hot month or two buoying him, he's a good player. I'm just unclear on why having a good young player at the major league level has anything to do with holding onto hope that Vitters turns out. Sulley has previoulsy expressed anger that the Cubs are wasting a spot on Valbuena while Vitters is around.
  6. The cop has apologized and resigned his post.
  7. phone woman's hair cracks me up
  8. Wow. More like holy [expletive] [expletive]! More like complete lie. Some 16 year old Dominican kid who was recently screwed over by new MLB rules his predecessors never dealt with isn't taking half the money because the Cubs built a park.
  9. It's still too early to say for sure that he's developed his approach, but the early reports look really good. I've been wanting to make the same comment, I guess you're more courageous than I am. Vitters will get a call up at some point, and if he keeps doing what he has been, I'm excited to see what he can do in his second taste of major league pitching. I have no idea what people have against him. It's not like he's 23 at low-A or 33 at AAA. he still has a shot to be an everyday major leaguer, and he's young. But BA doesn't think he's a prospect so I guess he can't be. He's a corner outfielder in waiting with over 2000 professional PA of sub 800 OPS performance. There's just nothing interesting there.

  11. I thought I was overly critical of it but plenty of others liked it, but I have no idea now.
  12. Wait the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn for next year? I thought it was the year after. Also, I forgot to put on 3/1 vs. Pittsburgh at Soldier Field Is it another year? Damn, I thought there was some half hearted "we'll miss the Nassau Coliseum" nonsense this year.
  13. I hope it's 3/3 instead of 4/2 with better high end guys from them.
  14. My favorite is going to be January 2/3 in Brooklyn and Newark.
  15. http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 26m #Blackhawks will play in the Central Division of the Western Conference.
  16. they finally announced NHL involvement in 2014 olympics.
  17. huh, I don't remember everybody thinking it was terrible.
  18. Are you new to this team? Ryan Dempster, Dan Haren, Brian Roberts, et al. It'll be 2 more weeks. :-) And it'll be a different team.
  19. https://twitter.com/TalPinch/status/358219440489377794/photo/1 Toews is wearing a NYC t-shirt on his day with the cup. What does this mean??????
  20. BUT UNITED HAS HUBS IN CHICAGO DENVER AND HOUSTON????? American has Chicago and Dallas.
  21. I love how passionate you are about this topic. I'm not as hardline about it but in general agree with the sentiment behind it.
  22. If Paniagua was as good as Pedro, I'd prefer him. Who deserves more ridicule, the guy who made the obvious statement or the guy who responded wrongly to it? The guy who made the dumb obvious statement.
  23. somebody here said he read Garza was on a plane to texas. But I haven't seen that.
