  1. Yes, usually since without water people frequently experience severe medical issues. It's not like there aren't other ways of obtaining drinking water... For $4 a bottle? It's a necessity of life.
  2. Bo Jackson says hi. Bo Jackson was an athlete that could play baseball, not a baseball player.
  3. That has to play to his constituents. Saying you will battle THE MAN is the easiest way to stay popular.
  4. Yeah, I hear his pseudo-intellectual mumbo jumbo and just picture a clubhouse full of dude completely tuning him out.
  5. Ever been there? The rain typically lasts a little while and then it's sunny the rest of the day. That's basically the entire summer there (when there isn't a hurricane). If you want to enjoy Florida, you don't go during the summer.
  6. Emery wanted to reiterate the organization's goals.
  7. Cheatin' in the good ole days was just boys being boys, cheatin' nowadays is just wrong.
  8. He's a baseball player so greatest athlete in history is out of the question. But the rest is attainable.
  9. They didn't damage the game at all. It was the golden era. The steroid era vaulted baseball from a declining era in which the NFL didn't just surpass, but lapped it in popularity and the freaking NBA threatened to overtake it. Thankfully the steroid era solidified its space in 2nd place among American sports.
  10. Tell that to Bonds who only became once in a generation after he took them. PED's made multiple once in a generation players (Bonds, Sosa, ARod). None of those guys would have been that good without them. Holy smokes are you comically wrong about this. No he's not. All of those guys would have been really good players but none of them, especially Bonds and his comically ridiculous seasons, would have put up anywhere near the numbers they did. I mean seriously, go look at the post in another thread talking about Rich Aurilia hitting 37 HRs and the top 9 guys in the MVP voting averaging 49 HRs. But Bonds was ridiculously good pre-blow up period.
  11. I think we played the Phillies and lost the day we got Nomar. The day was amazingly awesome anyway. I was at the Nomar traded game and met up with random Phillies fans I knew from college that day. Happiest loss I remember attending.

  13. bunch of wimpy scaredy cats
  14. Doesn't bother me one bit. Me either. Just why exactly is ARod so worthy of the HoF after being caught using PEDs numerous times now? Because he was better than anybody else for a long time.
  15. Too late. You put all your eggs in the Vitters basket and that is all anybody will remember.
  16. I don't like that people keep editing my game threads.
  17. Beginning with the 2011 IFA/draft, we've diverted almost every possible resource toward the acquisition of prospects. And now we have a ton of prospects. It's a good start, but I'm not lining up for an isosceles lock with Jed and Theo just yet. yeah, not many gms get this sort of free pass with the present in an effort to focus on the future. It's not that hard to build a surplus of prospects under these conditions.
  18. That's odd, its still fairly early in the season. Are the Giants really not going back east the rest of the season? I'm surprised the Reds were ok with this. It is not fairly early in the season. Early enough in the season that it's odd that a team is forced to play a home game at the opponents park, especially when that team is in the division/wild card race. It's baseball. The home field advantage isn't about a crowd getting you hyped up. As for the other question, the Giants are heading back east multiple times, but all their off days coincide with Reds games.
  19. I really don't understand the desire to search for these sort of stupid statements by fans.

  21. I don't think it would matter because PED suspensions are without pay. It matters. With that much money on the line it definitely matters. Not if there's a PED suspension it won't. If he doesn't get a lifetime ban, then there will be some haggling/buyout. If he's suspended he's not getting paid. He's not going to let $90m disappear without a fight. They are negotiating an endpoint.
  22. A-rod's done anyway. Would a lifetime ban void his contract? I don't think it would matter because PED suspensions are without pay. It matters. With that much money on the line it definitely matters.
