  1. That's what the alshon end around is for.
  2. Would have liked a run to eat some clock on very soft defense there.
  3. I like listening to the rare announcer that knows what he's talking about
  4. They are going to need to franchise McCown.
  5. That's why you always leave a note. http://content.internetvideoarchive.com/content/photos/463/019452_26.jpg
  6. Wow. So this guy isn't really all that comfortable with statistical analysis? http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/198w2lysu1dp4jpg/ku-xlarge.jpg Shocking.
  7. It's not just a brief prime we're talking about. Halladay was a better pitcher.
  8. Glavine? I don't really care much about these types of things, but I can't imagine many rank Glavine above Halladay.
  9. He's not just talking about the baseball team, which strikes me as a bit silly. He was talking about the total revenues of the parent company?
  10. I don't know much about this Anderson guy but he seems pretty bad. But Barney is really bad so he's clearly worth more.
  11. If there isn't a story about any free agent accepting less to sign where they are happier then their pr people aren't working
  12. The odds of not getting 20 million for him next season are pretty slim, so why not keep him for another year? This isn't their only chance to post him. $20m today is worth more than $20m next year. And the odds are far greater than "slim" that he suffers some sort of setback pitching in that league.
  13. ARod is coming off the books. The best he is hoping for is a 60 game suspension. He hasn't denied doing PEDs, he saying that the suspension was unfair. But 60 games wouldn't take him off the books.
  14. It's neither new nor going away. Both the contracts and apparently people claiming it will never happen again.
  15. What is a pants-on-head contract? GMs hand out contracts that their owners can afford. I don't see why we should worry about it.
  16. Joba's an interesting acquisition, but I just don't see how he fits with what the Cubs are trying to do this offseason. How so? Because he's not team controlled? I thought one thing they'd do is aggressively restock the bullpen and try to improve by not being horrible at the back end. I think he fits.
  17. Didn't they bring back Darnell McDonald?
  18. Oh my god, how prescient. You sure proved the rest of us wrong.
  19. Kind of a natural fit. Great move for Texans, IMO. Hire a Texan, in Texas, where there is maybe the most football talent in the country, and hiring a guy that players like to play for. He already has some pieces in place in a lot of places. Maybe adding the #1 pick. Anyone halfway capable of running an offense and they'll be contending for a Superbowl by 2015. We're talking about Lovie Smith right? I think he meant that if Lovie were HC and hired someone capable of running an offense. Still arguably a stretch for Lovie. It's not like Lovie never coached a team that was in contention for (or actually in) a Super Bowl.
  20. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 16m Packers QB Aaron Rodgers officially ruled out for Sunday.
  21. Kind of a natural fit. Great move for Texans, IMO. Hire a Texan, in Texas, where there is maybe the most football talent in the country, It's the NFL and its salary cap, the number of good Texas football players doesn't really matter.
  22. John McClain ‏@McClain_on_NFL 50m McNair just indicated he wants to talk to Lovie Smith.
  23. I've been thinking about that for awhile but for the entire pitching corps. It seems like it would work to keep injuries to a minimum and keep guys more fresh. A TOR type could start and close all in the same week. Probably better in theory. You don't want to mess with guys who can actually go 6+ successfully every 5th day. I think they should be able to set-up a rotation with 2 or 3 of those guys and then 3-4 piggyback types taking up the other innings.
