This makes me wonder...does anyone remember what it was like in the pre-advanced stats era? Would someone have looked at Choo's numbers (.241, 12 HR, 39 RBI), compared it to last year's numbers (.285, 21 HR, 54 RBI) and said 'eh he's not hitting as well as last year but still not too bad', when in reality he has completely [expletive] the bed? 3/4 of the way through the season? Yes, I think most people would look at those numbers and say he was bad, especially the .241 avg.
