  1. Oh Tom, you big kidder. Zach Zaidman ‏@ZachZaidman · 1m1 minute ago Tom Brady on the #Bears ability to generate takeaways (tied for 5th-most in NFL): "They’re obviously really coached well."
  2. holy cow @ that graphic. I want to hear the explanation for the "3 planes" issue. They aren't departing from Green Bay. They can fly direct to London. The way it is written indicates they are actually taking three separate airplanes, but the graphic indicates they are talking about the 3 different legs of the total journey. And they are considering their return flight from London as part of their trip to London.
  3. Financially, Brian Urlacher is an elite strip club customer.
  4. Well yeah it's real. They're playing in London. Yeah, I knew it was in London. I didn't know if it was 9:30PM London time, which is why Yahoo was showing 9:30. Usually the London games are still at 1 EST. They've moved the game to Barcelona, and for some reason Atlanta can't take a direct flight.
  5. I wonder how many more times that guy is going to pop up before people stop being amazed that he is popping up.
  6. They also haven't helped the Bears a [expletive] bit.
  7. Here's a fun exercise: Try to make the worst possible line combo using the forwards (no Rundblad at wing) currently available on the Blackhawks roster. I defy anyone to come up with one that doesn't do at least one thing really well. carcillo Richards versteeg
  8. Oh god, it's the same way Jim Hendry looked at stats.
  9. apologize for comparing your golf game to Cutler's professional footballing before you apologize for the length of the post.
  10. Football season is on the verge of being over, but they are still playing games, including one very early in the morning. 11. Fair. For this year, though, he is taking up a TON of their cap room--by design. His original number was a bit lower, but got bumped up when they signed other free agents to longer term deals. Yes, a lot of cap space this year, by design. But that doesn't really have anything to do with anything. It didn't prevent them from getting somebody they wanted. It didn't force them to cut somebody they wanted. He didn't hold out looking for the top dollars. There's no point in holding his contract against him at all right now. He had a shitty game. Focus on that if you want to criticize Cutler.
  12. This. 100% This. At what point do you join the loud chorus of people who have given up on Cutler? Just curious. Obviously from a national perspective, pretty much everyone already has. I think this is the first year that locally I've seen the beat reporters and the radio guys starting to dump on him and think of him as a wildly erratic and inconsistent starter. Depends on the tipping point.
  13. I'd rather have a veteran laden team that sucks than a young team that sucks, because at least a veteran team that sucks could theoretically improve with an influx of young talent. If you're young and you suck that suggests you suck at finding young talent and there is no fix for that.
  14. It sucks to be locked in to Cutler for another 2 seasons. I think this team is teetering on the brink of 'full rebuild' mode. Just too many holes and too many 30+ year olds. I go between agreeing with this and not agreeing with it. I don't think you ever need to rebuild in the NFL if you have a base of talent, stability at QB and at least an average drafting GM. I guess up for debate is how many of those the Bears have. An NFL rebuild is essentially getting a new GM and giving him a year or 2 to make the team much better.
  15. If I had to guess, this cancellation is more about looking like HE IS FOCUSED SOLELY ON THE NEXT GAME than about avoiding questions. Eh a two hour radio show or whatever wouldn't affect his game prep unless it was a short week. The BM theory would be stronger, but either way it doesn't matter. Or maybe Trestman asked him to cancel. Still, doesn't matter. I'm talking about perception not the actual effect.
  16. it's a [expletive] sports talk radio show. nothing on a sports talk radio show matters
  17. If I had to guess, this cancellation is more about looking like HE IS FOCUSED SOLELY ON THE NEXT GAME than about avoiding questions.
  18. If you think this isn't bitching out, I don't know what to tell you. There's a reason why this guy hasn't been more successful and this is part of it. I tried to look past it and have been a Cutler fanboy for years blaming the offensive line, poor receivers, incompetent offensive coaching, but when stuff starts to go bad, you finally start to see stuff that others (national media, former teammates, anonymous sources) have seen before. It really stinks seeing one of your favorite Bears of all time become "who they thought he was". I really hope there's a good reason for him not to show up, and even if there's not, I'm sure the Bears spin control will come up with something (fake injury treatment or something) to make him look good. And, this year's performance doesn't mean the guy can't turn it around and he still has the talent to be a top 10 or Super Bowl winning QB, but he's in his 10th year and it's hard to see that happening, which sucks. Not a fan of the underlying misogyny of the phrase "bitching out". But I will just say it's a fairly common occurrence for guys with these local media relationships to cancel them for reasons other than a dying child and I am pretty sure the only people who care about that are the hosts themselves and psychopaths.
  19. his children better be really sick, hopefully his wife too, and maybe mom.
  20. Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_Campbell · 52s52 seconds ago .@ESPN1000 Program Director Adam Delevitt said Bears QB Jay Cutler gave no reason for cancelling his regularly scheduled appearance today. Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_Campbell · 2m2 minutes ago Bears QB Jay Cutler this morning informed @ESPN1000 he would not appear on his reguarly scheduled radio show today at 2 p.m.
  21. Somebody stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  22. Greene is such a disappointment. Athletically he has everything he needs. Apparently its intellect that he is lacking. A 4th round pick out of Rutgers, he's not that much of a disappointment.
  23. no, but it stopped being funny. or never really was. Poverty is never funny.
  24. What the heck is fun about it? When I think homers I think Yankees and White Sox broadcasts and they are awful. There's nothing fun about an announcer that is detached from reality and incapable of providing rational and accurate descriptions of play.
