  1. Looking good Yogi, looking good.
  2. He's off all the time. Does a lot of the shows from his basement I believe. He's honestly semi-retired, and is around to make weird noises and be Dan's yes-man. But Black Monday is like sarcastic radio host porn.
  3. so, like, why isn't Terry Boers working on this day, of all days?
  4. Except Cutler. And Trestman and Emery and Kromer and I assume the other coordinators.
  5. No you goomba, we're worried about the entire package, which is an aging expensive and declining receiver who came in with a short fuse and is probably not going to be something the next big boss wants to deal with going forward.
  6. I would expect it to be a perfect storm of those things plus the possibility Marshall may not react well to the new guy coming in and trying to restrict his media appearances. Christ, he's not the [expletive] Hulk; he's not going to flip out if they tell him to not go on the radio. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrap both him and Cutler's radio spots if both are on the team next year. Just spin it like it's a fresh start and all that crap and he'd be fine. Hell, we're having this discussion today because a guy ON THE RADIO ticked him off. Probably not going to be too hard to explain to him why it would be a better move to stay off of it. Depends on contract language really. If they don't have decent clout to try and restrict his appearances, he may say thanks no thanks. Not react well doesn't mean he starts flipping tables. All this media stuff is him setting up his next career, so there's next to no way you can cut him off from making appearances.
  7. It's like sammy sofa pays as much attention to the Bears as he does Cubs players. Marshall was the catalyst to the first meltdown team meeting nonsense being leaked to the public we lost the team situation of the year.
  8. There is nothing at all bizarre about a player lamenting the firing of his coach, whether he means it or not is another story. But he specifically tweeted out thanks to both Trestman and Emery for bringing him to the NFL and only included a picture of Emery if that makes you happy.
  9. You are the boy who cried wolf of meatballin. It's all about the next big boss and the next big boss probably isn't accepting an unstable sociopath whose abilities are on the decline. As I said before I am more and more of the belief that the new guys will be happy to take a 2015 dive and finish the house cleaning job that started today down to the older players.
  10. If you want to close your eyes and cover your ears and pretend everything else Marshall was involved with this past year wasn't a total disaster then yes, yelling at a radio guy is a dumb reason to cut him. But that's a dumb way to summarize the marshall situation.
  11. Long hasn't head any other coach though...so it's understandable from him. He has no other point of reference. I was listening to Francesa Sunday morning and it was pretty funny to hear him talking about the inevitable Rex Ryan firing and how he doesn't want to hear any players talk about how much they love him after he's gone, considering how horribly they played.
  12. So, the more I think about this the more I think the Bears are going into tank mode for next season. I think Cutler is a solid placeholder QB and they can try and win a good amount of games next year, but it may be more worth it to the new BOSS to just cut bait there, take the cap hit and get yourself another top draft pick in 2016 then start going for the real turnaround in 2016. Hell, they may even trade Forte for some middling pick and really just accelerate the 2015 meltdown.
  13. I really can't stand Bernstein's "If you asked me who was running the Bears my answer was I do not know. Now I know." BS.

  15. Suh was suspended
  16. Right...but the point is to try to mimic the whole organization setup, possibly. But Dan said the only thing he can says is that Ted Phillips is safe...essentially they don't wanna fire him and want to keep him on somehow. then they aren't mimicking them and it's pointless to hire another non-NFL exec. oh god why am I listening to wscr callers right now?
  17. why in the holy hell would they keep philips and hire some other non-nfl executive? He's saying that both these guys have run sports organizations, so it would be the non-football business stuff that Ted Phillips would do. This would mimic what the Packers have done by bringing in Mark Murphy, who was the AD in Northwestern before moving to the Packers. It would only mimic them if they have a Ted Thompson below him.

  19. why in the holy hell would they keep philips and hire some other non-nfl executive?
  20. What's that have to do with what he said in that quote? He said what wrigley said he said. He's down with whatever coach of whatever style as long as it's a good coach who has a winning style. I guess he's trying to sound open to save his job, but I have a feeling he's speak his mind if he had an opinion. He wouldn't go unsigned if he was cut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He's a damn good player that shows that elusive emotion on the field. He will punch people in the face to get a first down. and drop the ball
  21. There is going to be a lengthy interview process, almost certainly. You have to handle Rooney rule situation plus honor playoff interview protocol.
  22. Lovie was entrenched at that point. Yeah, that GM was told he had to let Lovie coach for a year.
  23. Could have been GM jobs where he is essentially working for the head coach, or for crazy overbearing owners.
  24. Just don't see it happening. He's got a great ready made gig and family ties in Balt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The Bears job is better. Even with the success of the Ravens. Yeah, I dont' get the notion that he would pass on the Bears GM job because he essentially has a guarantee to get the Baltimore job whenever Newsome leaves.
