  2. why were you trying to talk to a stranger at a bar?
  3. Well duh, they were terrible as opposed to winning 10 in Lovie's last year. Plus, Trestman is weird. His last day with the Bears was the same as all the previous days. And it was only two years.
  4. Michael Silver scoffing at Trestman being fired, places all the blame on Emery's poor GM track record, which starts with the stupid hiring of Trestman.
  5. when he was traded for cutler
  6. I said before I am not convinced they go back to the current hierarchy situation, but maybe they hire a GM with ties to the Lovie era (Ruskell?).
  7. Who is he close to that would be his coordinators? No idea. He has ties to Philly, Chicago and KC, so obviously a lot of coaches that also have ties to Lovie and Andy Reid, as well as John Harbaugh (the ST coordinator in Philly when Toub was his asst). Brad Childress was on those Philly staffs and is currently with KC. Leslie Frazier was also on that Philly staff and could theoretically be given a promotion to assistant head coach if taken from Lovie's staff. Steve Spagnuolo would be another potential candidate. None of those guys excite me Not me either, which is why I mentioned Toub. They have a tendency to look at guys with prior attachment to the Bears, and he's the closest former coordinator who has interviewed with multiple teams. I am guessing they were never embarrassed like this during Lovie era and have some hopes of returning to that style. Toub is probably more fiery but could theoretically return to "how things should be run", especially if he has multiple former head coaches on his staff under him.
  8. This seems odd... Emery seems like a standup guy who was embarrassed by what became of his team and I would guess the Bears trust him to not be a dick in this press conference.

  10. I actually have some new found respect for her this is not different from past instances of house cleaning by the bears I don't remember ever hearing Virginia weigh in on firings The whole impetus of moving Michael out of the president's position was because of Virginia's embarrassment at what the organization had become.
  11. Maybe Harbaugh has a layover at Ohare on the way to Michigan and George is going to the airport to make a pitch. I know that's a pipe dream. I doubt he's flying united.
  12. So is Dave Toub the leader in the clubhouse?

  14. So presumably DeCamillis conducting his exit interview now. It was totally refreshing and not the least bit obnoxious that his returners finally learned to take an knee in the end zone in the final game.
  15. The first step was accidental. When you step on something raised on a football field, there aren't many things it could be other than a body. The natural reaction when you step on something should be to take the weight off the foot and quickly remove it from whatever you are stepping on. He then proceeded to step on him again and then lift his other foot to place all weight on the foot smashing his ankle. It was dirty and he should be suspended for it. It was even more obvious when Rodgers reached up and whacked him one and Suh never turned around. Yeah, it was flagrant, intentional and suspension worthy, as are all of his actions.
  16. trestman isn't even a name to watch CFL list comes out later. In all seriousness I wonder what his next move is. Rex Ryan's offensive coordinator in Oakland.
  17. it blows my mind that there are actual human beings who think Trestman should have kept his job.
  18. trestman isn't even a name to watch
  19. Nothing about Rex makes me think the Bears will fix their offense/QB issues the next 10 years. I think he could do enough with the defense to minimize those flaws. He'd need to have a competent OC, undoubtedly. Do you not remember what the problem was during the Lovie era? Being a defensive centric team sucks and is dumb.

  21. Please no My biggest issue with Shanahan (other than he sucked since Elway retired) is that this is a move that caters to Jay. Honestly, there should be no more moves made to make things ideal for Cutler. He's not the future anymore. Best case, he's a good placeholder for 2 years. The new coach should outlast Cutler. Now, whether or not the Bears did enough to cater to Jay is a different story. What about Shanahan as president hiring Kubiak as his head coach?
  22. an old man who has been out of the game for a couple years after a dud of an attempt to run the Browns.
  23. He's definitely not a QB who can overcome a bottom of the barrel defense, but there aren't many of those around.
  24. who is this god awful cohost on WSCR begging for a game managing QB?
