    I have never seen anything like that swarming team defense they played last night. Any time it looked remotely like the Lightning had something going, a Blackhawks player poked the puck free. And Tampa gave up with a minute to go. Kind of shocking. They waited way too long to pull their goalie and then the Hawks destroyed their will.

    I think we'll get value for both. We always do. People make a big deal about how teams should just punish us for our hubris, but in the end someone will want these players. Who wants Bickell other than the fact he helps you reach the cap floor? Nhl teams live putting Stanley cup winning players on their roster.

    Still? No [expletive] way Wishful thinking on David's part. in what way? i just think the bulls, cubs, and bears max out higher i'm definitely biased but i felt like even when the sox won the series it was mostly ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as far as the bandwagon went Why are you still here?

    I felt like the day he was out would be the day the Hawks could move forward but I never dreamed of this. I always come back to this: I was listening to that game on the radio at work, and couldn't wait to get home to see the highlight. Hearing the other team's announcers gush like that really drove home how special it was about to become. Avalanche?

The OF gave up on the ball and didn't care, so the ump wasn't going to make the effort to make the call. If the ball bounced into the stands for a "traditional" ground rule double then maybe he gets that added to his stat line automatically. Although he may have to hit second base to make it official.

    I didn't see THE SLIDE live but I did see it in replay and am absolutely amazed by how big of a deal people made about a guy sliding to the left side of the bag to avoid the tag from a terrible throw that was way off target. That's like baserunning 102 (not quite, make sure you go counter clockwise around the bases, you can run through 1st and home but not 2nd and 3rd, and tagging up, but nothing to go crazy about). What I do not like seeing are all these head first slides from a guy who is going to go a long way toward determining the future of this team with his bat. Go ahead and respect 90 all you want but you better protect your thumbs and wrists.

    Personally, I hope the Cubs aren't the team that pays him. There are better ways to find pitching. Price will be 30 and will get too long of a contract through his decline phase to make that kind of investment. The Cubs aren't drafting any so their only option is to buy it.
