  1. I'm the same age and he is easily the best Cub to play in our lives and the only thing that made them relevant and competitive for years. He's awesome and those that hated on him are idiots and the owner is a douche for shunning him.
  2. if they reach out to him I will hunt you down mister.
  3. That is literally one of the dumbest ideas anybody on this site has ever had.
  4. and when do we want it?
  5. Exactly. Don't legitimize this idiotic line of thinking. Plus, it takes a great moment away from people who, you know, had something to do with the Cubs. Pretending like meatballs exist doesn't magically make the hell they put Bartman through go away. I really don't give a [expletive] what it "legitimizes" because it would ultimately just be a nice gesture after the fact to a guy who basically had his life ruined just for being a Cubs fan who went to a game. No, it would ultimately be dumb as [expletive]. A nice gesture would be to send him a free t-shirt.
  6. I do not have a problem with a pitcher bitchin' about the bat flip there. It's about the most perfectly acceptable time to do a bat flip, but a pitcher who ends up on the losing end of that craziness is aloud to vent a little to the press. I don't want my pitcher tippin' his cap. It was a more a criticism of how [expletive] his complaining was. If he wants to vent and rage, fine, but don't wuss out and blame it on "political correctness." Hamels is dumb. He should be mad at his team for making 3 straight errors. He probably was mad at them but smart enough to not admit it.
  7. is that jake? He's supposed to be throwing a side session
  8. [tweet] [/tweet] it was a good read

  10. what is embarrassing? A semifinal game being broadcast at 2:30 during the week? Not sure about you, but I think that kind of sucks. There's nothing wrong with two games overlapping, no? It's not a semifinal game. It's game 3 of a 7 game series. It's not game 1 and it's not a potential clincher. There is nothing embarrassing about it. There's a lot wrong with overlapping telecasts.
  11. I honestly do not understand why anybody is bringing up football refs in this discussion, or how they are pretending it was wrong after the fact. It's obvious that run was legal. It would suck to be a home fan and understandable about being upset. But third party viewers should easily be able to comprehend why the eventual call was correct.
  12. FWIW expecting record low temps sat/sun in NYC. Going to be in the 40s at theoretical game time and freezing by midnight.
  13. http://www.tbs.com/schedule/index.html this is the only thing I can see. The Sat/Sun games are 8 eastern, the Tue game is 3:30 eastern while Wed/Thur are 8pm Eastern. I'm not getting where all the hand wringing is coming from. It's a 7 game series and only one game is currently listed in the middle of a weekday. I'm not sure if there is anything to read into the fact that there is no current timeslot reserved for a potential game 7 on Sunday night. They'll play that at 8:30 AM because MLB is a bunch of cowards terrified of the goons at the NFL. You gotta start that game at 7:30 eastern. Right at the end of the afternoon NFL games and before Pat/Colts starts up. You should be near the 9th innings by halftime.
  14. . The cardinals are presented with the MLB crown immediately upon completion of the regular season. (Note: it's a real [expletive] crown with jewels and stuff, not some [expletive], loser metaphor.) Remaining teams are allowed to play a for second place. The "winning team" is awarded a framed photo of Stan Musial receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Remaining teams get participation ribbons. So he's cool with their 2011 title, even though it was a wildcard one? It only proves his point, somehow.

  16. Instant download.
  17. Yes. absolutely there is a greater opportunity for more eyes at two games airing at separate times than simultaneously. And the networks absolutely want exclusive rights to any baseball being aired at that time slot.
  18. I'm a little more interest in his ideas for a Die Hard prequel, perhaps about Ellis's coke habit and called Die Hard White Knight. But this should also be good.
  19. The games are on two different networks, Fox and TBS. Fox must get priority for primetime that night and it has nothing to do with markets involved.
