  1. If they acquire the guy I’d bet they are the favorite to sign him and something like 30-40% chance they do. they’ve got very little on the books past 2026. Suzuki and Bellinger will be gone. Good chance Happ and/or Hoerner will be gone. The bigger question will be getting him in the first place.
  2. Crochet went to Red Sox?
  3. Everything I read about that game said it was entertaining. Dallas scored in all 4 quarters. Cincy didn’t score in the 3rd but got 10 points in the 2nd and 4. 5 total tds, 3/2. Winning TD scored in final minute. Chicago has lost by 25, 20 and 16 so far this year and the offense has sucked in 7 of the games played, and most first halves.
  4. Bears/Vikings is one of two MNF matchups this weekend which is good for Disney since there’s a good chance the Bears lay another national tv egg. But maybe they figure out a way to cover the 7 point spread on the road. If Thomas Brown wants to stay in the discussion for next head coach winning a road game against a better divisional opponent would be a good start. But, alas…
  5. Warren being involved in a head coach search does not mean they don’t trust Poles with personnel decisions one day in the future Poles may accomplish enough to win a power struggle. To date, he has not come close
  6. Spoiler alert, it will not be their last chance to draft one. Now, it may be the last chance for Ryan Poles, but that’s a different story.
  7. This to me seems more likely. Poles handicapped Eberflus his first year and when he has a chance to significantly improve in year two he chose to kick the can down the road. I think he felt a loyalty to Eberflus for guiding the team through two self imposed terrible seasons and he owed Eberflus a season of trying.
  8. He’s had several offseasons to improve the team and he has not. He spent money on mediocre RBs and hoped one DE would somehow solve the entire pass rush thing. He’s invested in LB over the line. He’s triple and quadrupled down on non impactful guys in the secondary every draft and stuck with mediocrity across the line. Poles may know what this team needs to get better but he has not shown in three years the willingness or ability to find it.
  9. I don’t disagree, thus my “you are kind of stuck with him” comment above. A franchise reset at this point won’t help. Poles is going to waste Caleb’s rookie contract because he’s incapable of building a winning roster. The one option you really have to circumvent that problem is get rid of Poles and elevate Ian Cunningham. But he very well might not take that job under those circumstances.
  10. You sound like an abuse victim unaware of reality
  11. It’s been a minute since I’ve been a live attendee at a Chicago victory over a NY team. That was fun.
  12. Isn’t he displacing sub-replacement level roster filler?
  13. What a lame talk show host name
  14. All you bandwagoners just waking up to Poles’ failing now is weak. I was on this guy after his first offseason. He blew it. you can’t tear down a roster and refuse to add when you have cap space then suddenly assume you can fix it. mow you are kind of stuck with him.
  15. Okay but that’s not a real thing so there is no point
  16. Single doink
  17. The bottom line is there is no such thing as a qb that does it on his own. He’s a very capable qb playing for an incredible flawed team. He’ll probably flame out because this organization couldnt find an offensive philosophy in a maga convention, but they could luck out and team him up with something decent. He’s fine. He’s not impeccable. He’s not a lost cause. He’s fine, but they’ll need a hell of a lot more to make anything great out of it.
  18. What the horsefeathers stupidity is this horsefeathers?
  19. No, it’s not dumb. In a world where franchises change hands for several billions dollars, the assets that make those franchises valuable getting $50m a year is nowhere near dumb. The limitations normal people place on themselves…
  20. Zero pressure. Tons of time. Lots of linebackers in coverage. This defense is trash. The top 5 talk never made sense. Extrapolating a full season out of small samples in a 4th place schedule was always foolish.
  21. What is the NFL record for discrepancy between offensive plays run by either team?
  22. If they look like this the rest of the way, Poles has to be on the hot seat. The tear down was his doing. The 2024 bears from head to toe are his creation. These are all his players. If they lay another stinker, after a half dozen of them last year and multiple so far this year. You just can’t say he’s done a good job.
  23. Yes indeed, he did. No interest in competing
