  1. Colorado is like the one team that can’t afford to add. Toronto is the one team that has done anything and they suck. Florida could add a small piece. Probably same for Tampa. Vegas is gonna Vegas. But they probably are gonna lose a piece or two before adding.
  2. That’s not how I see nhl offseasons. It’s more about teams just restringing their own guys and like 2-4 difference makers move. And on that note, Dickinson signing for 5/20 with oilers is good work by him. A 4m hit is reasonable right now but that’s a long time to be tied to a guy that doesn’t score. Edmonton better hope that McDavid loves him.
  3. If you’re here and we’re here, isn’t it OUR goal?
  4. More like Pulisick everything I heard about this guy is he’s not healthy
  5. Any lingering doubt that Toronto would take McKenna because of their desperate need for defense and availability of Reid at 1 has probably been put to rest. They pulled off a sign and trade for Raddysh. The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the market by landing one of the NHL’s top pending free agents in a blockbuster sign-and-trade deal on Friday morning. The Leafs acquired offensive defenseman Darren Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a draft pick and signed him to a massive eight-year contract for more than $8 million a season, a league source confirmed to The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun. The lucrative payday makes Raddysh, 30, one of the highest paid defensemen in the NHL after having never earned more than $975,000 in any previous season.
  6. The Torts Vegas marriage lasted longer than many other Vegas weddings but it’s over
  7. RIP Kyle Calder former professional athletes that are younger than me are dying with regularity
  8. No reasonable person thought the manager was the engine they never are
  9. FIGJAM now stands for fellas I groped julie, arrest me
  10. Corey Pronman with a pretty wild top of the list for draft prospects. He’s got three D men to start, Reid, Šmits, Verhoeff. A lot of people have Reid or another D at the top of their list. But most people have kept the early season presumptuous first pick Verhoeff toward the bottom of the top ten after a disappointing season. He had Verhoeff and Šmits going 6 and 8 in his mock so he’s definitely not just relying on common assumptions about these players. McKenna and Stenberg round out the top 5. I think I’d be fine with McKenna, Stenberg, Reid or Šmits but not interested in any of the other RHD (at least Reid has “special” upside). None of the D are going to play NHL minutes next year so it’s not like the current logjam on the blue line is a big issue. At least one of those guys will be out the door or on the way by this time next year and Reid could realistically be looking at 28/29 season introduction and by then the logjam should be clear. but a F is much more pressing of a need, since this team cannot score enough with current players. and I’d still like to see what kind of current quality F they could get for the pick this year
  11. Oilers hiring Babcock seems like a hilarious misinterpretation of the Vegas/Tortorella story
  12. Skeptics are gonna see the Hawks as a team that is a year or two away from being Detroit, a not good enough for playoffs not bad enough for lottery luck group. I don’t see a 30 y/o sick of missing the playoffs every year being open to coming to Chicago. You’re probably sending back Nazar and picks in that deal. It could make sense for Chicago but does Detroit want draft picks?
  13. We don’t have an EPA. There will be no repercussions for companies that kill in the near future.
  14. I missed most of the game. But that Marner block definitely saved a tying goal with seconds remaining
  15. Both goalies are capable of falling apart at a moments notice. Vegas only needs three more wins but it’s hardly over. Carolina can still make noise.
  16. Biggest snag is San Jose likely very open to trading down below Chicago. SJ has #20 as well and could be in a position to stockpile defensive prospects a little lower.
  17. Vancouver hiring Malhotra feels like it almost guarantees they draft his son at 3, which almost everybody has mocked at this point.
  18. The Bears didn’t have anybody possible comparable. that’s the whole reason we’re in this defensive predicament
  19. You don’t know if the bears had a Jared Verse on the roster?
  20. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088323/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
  21. Since this was a ‘27 third, the future 1/2/3 rounds picks now look like: ’26 (1,2,2,2,3) ’27 (1,1,1,2,2,3,3) ’28 (1,2,2,3) that’s 5 1s, 7 2s, 4 3s. 16 contracts that will have to be added to the 50 contract maximum. At a minimum they should be looking to trade away 2 1s and three or four 2s/3s within that calendar year. That should be enough to acquire one top 6 forward and a halfway decent D man.
  22. I’m not worried about the individual. I’m worried about the surplus causing losses. They already lost Dominic James to Tampa under similar circumstances. He saw a quicker path to NHL team with a better team. you cant keep selecting multiple 1/2/3 round guys and get them in the system. The surplus loses value when you hit the extreme end
