  1. I’m pretty sure that was an intentional bank pass. It’s definitely a thing guys do even well below the nhl level
  2. Yes and they didn’t even get a 3rd for him since they had to eat more money on the other contract to facilitate the trade. My point is bringing back 3rd round picks doesn’t do much of anything for this team. We saw last year how frivolously Davidson treated his plethora of picks with that Islanders trade, practically giving one away to move up a minimal number of slots to take a guy they could have taken later. There are nhl contract limitations. They already had 2 firsts and 2 seconds this year. They have 3 seconds the following draft and 2 more in 2027. At some point there isn’t going to be room for all these prospects. A third in 2025 is ultimately most likely to get lost in the shuffle. They may end up moving future picks for an actual impact player one of these years and maybe this extra one gets them closer to the tipping point of realizing the surplus is superfluous. It wasn’t an awful trade, but it still seems kind of meaningless.
  3. Chicago gets its first win since trading Hall and facilitating Carolina/Colorado trade. 4-1 in Tampa. Teuvo, Donato, Bedard and Slaggert scored, Jones had two assists and was a +3. It was their first three goal margin of victory since American Thanksgiving. Only their 4th win in 2025. it was their 37th point in 50 games, which is kind of sort of pulling away from San Jose’s 36 points in 53 games. They face Hall and Carolina next
  4. Cowboys hire Flus as DC
  5. The bears need impact players.
  6. The Chicago Stars will open training camp without star forward Mallory Swanson, who will miss time due to personal reasons, the team announced Monday. The Stars didn’t provide additional details but said they have been in contact with Swanson and “are fully supportive of her decision.” “I’d like to thank the club and the fans for their understanding during this time,” Swanson said in a statement. “I appreciate the kindness and encouragement from my teammates and all the Stars staff and hope to be back with the team and playing in front of our fans as soon as I can.”
  7. He was with the pelicans for 5 years but hasn’t been since 2019. Dennis Lauscha is the president. Loomis has assistant GMs and football admin guys below him.
  8. The commanders have been rebuilding for decades
  9. They got their third round pick back from Carolina which is kind of a pointless trade to make unless Hall wanted out and they wanted to make him happy
  10. Famously there’s a kangaroo court in every clubhouse dummy
  11. I remember really liking Antwaan Randle El back in the day
  12. Bedard to Nazar was a thing of beauty by both
  13. Slowik out in Houston, would be perfect fit for McCarthy as OC
  14. Year off, return as OC, or college, also on the table. I think highly paid OC would be perfect gig for him
  15. Pete Carroll to the Raiders
  16. Brian Cornelius Schottenheimer Nepo baby coach for several years I maintained that the bears got a lot more national grief than Dallas despite basically being the same organization since the 2000s. The comparison was very close, but Jerry Jones doing a better job exploiting revenue streams gave him more credit as an owner. The comp basically ceased to work in 2020s but maybe the gap will narrow again over the next couple seasons
  17. From Mark Lazarus: Blackhawks sign AJ Spellacy, a third rounder in 2024, to a three-year entry-level contract ($975,000 cap hit). Spellacy had a dynamite training camp and could be a nice piece of the puzzle in the not-too-distant future.
  18. Trent Baalke has been canned after jags realized nobody wanted to work with him
  19. That wasn’t “some contact” the defender was grabbing him for ten yards. Good defenders don’t have to do that
  20. It’s not even a new world. There have always been running backs worthy of top ten picks. RB has a pecking order and top line guys do make a difference and are worth investment. The problem was people used to take the 3rd or 4th best RB in the first round as well. You can plug and play most RB but you cannot replicate excellence at the position. A weapon is a weapon
  21. What’s the deal with an nfl head coach dressing like Jerry Seinfeld 30 years ago?
  22. The thing about Daboll is Daniel Jones was never a guy they should have invested in. No idea why he got that contract.
  23. Good enough to get two different head coaching jobs, neither of which worked out it makes a ton of sense that a first time HC gets a former HC as the coordinator on other side of ball than his focus
  24. Hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog
