  1. Looks like he already did. Listed on chicagobears.com as a guard. He was discussed in today's draft recap story as a likely TE.
  2. 1) It's Maddux, not Maddox. 2) You got the quote wrong. Maddux said long ball, Maddox said homerun.
  3. Miles is going to get that OPS over 500 one of these days, you better believe it.
  4. Yeah he's been really unlucky this inning. He walked the leadoff guy, gave up a double and threw a wild pitch. The ball that hit the umpire isn't really bad luck against Dempster. He didn't pitch particularly well no matter how you cut it.
  5. Is DLee flashing some more of his elite leather out there? What is a bunt single to second deflected by 1B?
  6. I'm pretty sure he skipped the '09 Regression and is in the middle of the '10 Regression already.
  7. I never would have predicted Augie Ojeda would be getting paid to play baseball at age 34.
  8. I'd bet yes, but what about an ERA under 4.50?
  9. Dusty probably does. He's always on top of that stuff. *I assumed that question was sarcastic by the way, considering the previous 5-6 posts all referenced the pitch count.
  10. There are probably many people who would much rather go to a Yankees game than live in your house or ride in your truck.
  11. And Miles with an OPS right around each of the above SLG.
  12. He might be building some sort of value, but I highly doubt it's killer. He might be able to be considered worthy of being the throw in for a lefty reliever or something.
  13. Lee/Johnson 4/5 makes that debatable. And a non-functioning Soto adds to that debate.
  14. They also slobber over guys on the bench saying the right thing at the right time to make all the difference in the world. I heard it said about a Flames player, Paulson in game 6, and a couple guys in other games. In that guy's mind, telling your team to "calm down" is the greatest thing a player can do in a hockey game.
  15. The only problem is that watching the TSN feed is that they'll be defenitely biased towards the Canucks. a broadcast that is tilted towards the canucks or a broadcast that is all the way homer? I would much rather watch a tsn game with a Canadian team than almost any home teams announcers doing the game, including the Red Wings. At least the TSN announcers are very well informed about hockey as a whole. Some homer announcers, especially American ones, cannot even pronounce some guys names on the other teams. I think Foley and Olczyk are probably the best in America, but they are homers, which makes it un-objective and hard to watch sometimes. That's probably very true, but I've heard numerous instances where they've talked about bad calls that favored the Hawks and outright said they "got away with one" or otherwise got lucky.
  16. I would think so since Fukudome has already been given the day off. Is something wrong with Fukudome? Why did Gathwright PH for him yesterday?
  17. correct! glad to see we're all on the same page here. It comes down to people's definition of "uber," apparently. Anyone graded as an A- or better is mine, so roughly the Top 15-20 prospects in baseball. I think you can make an argument for having Hosmer that high. I know the guy's struggled since being drafted, but I love the guy's skill set. In whose rankings though? Aren't some publications likely to favor one type of guy over another?
  18. jason heyward is basically in the same boat, a guy with great tools who put up big numbers at low-a ball. just because patterson had a major flaw (plate discipline) doesn't mean he wasn't an uber-prospect. that's a skill that some big-time prospects (jay bruce, cameron maybin) don't possess initially. I don't know, I think guys who are uber-prospects are guys who get raves from tools people but also produce tremendous numbers in high A/AA levels. He may have been ranked high by Baseball America, but there were plenty of people who were downgrading him quite early. I believe it was Rob Neyer who was always expressing doubts that Patterson would ever amount to anything.
  19. I agree. I think one of the only ways that does happen is if Hester gets injured. He seems to me to be somebody acquired specifically to push Hester and be potential replacement if he falters.
  20. I didn't say he would get more then 300 yards as a rookie, I said it wouldn't surprise me if he is productive like Eddie Royal as a rookie. Besides, if his hands are s reliable as people say he is, he'll quickly become a favorite with Cutler and the coaching staff. If he doesn't get 300 yards he's not productive like Eddie Royal who caught 90 balls for 1000+. I guess I don't understand your point. I think he's differentiating between what he thinks is likely to happen, and what he wouldn't be surprised of if it happened.
