  1. Why are you showing links to an XFL game?
  2. It was quintessential Lovie. The only reason I'm not flabbergasted is that it was completely predictable as it was happening.
  3. The play happens in an instant and the line of sight is not perfect. It's kind of difficult. But that is why you have instant replay and that is why you have people upstairs telling the head coach to challenge a play. The refs were horrible on multiple non-holding calls though.
  4. He had two bad throws on picks and two where his piece of crap receivers hung him out to dry. His other turnover, the fumble, wasn't a freaking fumble and instead was a touchdown. If he didn't have a complete freaking moron for a head coach they win that game and he isn't even attempting the passes he was desperate to make late since he was the only one on offense playing that game. That loss was on Lovie and it's going to go down as a Cutler game because the coach sucks, and despite the fact that Cutler kept them in the game by himself for the first half.
  5. There is plenty to say about play on field but lovie's stuupidity cost them the game. Not indirectly or theoretically. That man's incompetence lost the game. He sucks
  6. Lovie smith you mentally challenged challenger you f ing suck horse balls
  7. One thing that was emphasized is you are responsible for what happens, so intent doesn't really matter. You can not intend to grab a facemask but if you reach out and the only thing there is a facemask and you grab it, it's a penalty. Guys who play an "on the edge" style run the risk of causing damage. You can say that's how he plays and shrug your shoulders or say, well if that is how you play then when bad things happen, like your helment hitting his helmet, you will be punished. Proper tackling technique will keep you from getting into trouble. It won't prevent every dangerous hit or injury, but you will be better off than the guys who launch themselves.
  8. Well that's not an overreaction or anything. And what is the overreaction you are implying? It was a stupid point to attempt to make that reflects the stupidity of whoever made it.
  9. the difference in the bennet hit on the punter is so crystal clear that it's stupid what that idiot drew up. He's got defenders launched in the air with their head first going toward the opponents head. Bennett was on his feet and put his shoulder into the chest. It's really freaking simple, but leave it to these simpletons to not understand.
  10. His feet also never left the ground, ie. did not launch himself.
  11. Somebody's getting fined, I'd guess. Doesn't mean they're wrong, though. They are wrong. It's a pretty easy rule to follow. The launching and the initial contact being made with the helmet and/or to the opponents helmet are really easy to not do. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d81b80962/Player-safety
  12. He ended up signing a new deal, right?
  13. well said, lebron's PR Firm. Well said Fixed PR firms don't talk so unintelligently. Unless they are deliberately trying to sound the way an idiot would sound when trying to be philosophical.
  14. With Garza still not practicing, I think Webb is still going to be at RT. Hopefully, Garza is back after the BYE, Chris Williams goes back to LT, and Omiyale back to RT for the rest of the year. But that's just me speculating. With all the talk about the need for continuity, which I believe the coaches actually want, the no brainer is to put Williams at LT, Omiyale at RT and have your backup play G until Garza returns. Then when he returns that's only one change. Playing a temporary lineup until he returns and then switching up 3/5 of your line again is the complete opposite of trying to keep continuity on the line.
  15. Joe buck isincompetent. Guy was called safe at 3rd immediately and throw did not pull him off bag, he wasn't on bag. Moron
  16. Yep, the last two. He did a pretty good job in those two games too. Yeah, he really did. Did his name get on the puck? I know Hendry's didn't due to the strict rules they have. Which seems silly. what puck?
  17. Interesting, but what other option do they have? The only realistic neutral site would be San Diego.
  18. I would say it's just as much of a must win in terms of my faith in them doing anything the rest of the year. Lose back to back at home to mediocre teams and most hope is gone.
  19. lol lol @ the irony in erik posting that statement, the irony of someone saying that politics are more worthy of getting worked up about than sprots, or both? I think the former plus the notion that people don't get worked up over politics.
  20. He's not afraid to listen to his gut either.
  21. But that game was close in terms of score almost the entire way. It was a little like it. If they keep playing like this eventually the score will reflect a blowout. Fair enough...I guess it just felt like it because of expectations coming in. Not that we thought, in either case, that we would dominate the other team, but I think we thought going into both of them that we were capable of playing with the other team. Especially this year, after the Dallas and GB wins. Maybe we did stay with NY to some extent, but I guess I just felt deflated in similar fashion after both games. NY didn't blow us out, but with the sacks and the Cutler concussion, I felt a similar level of disappointment. Yeah, it was a similar level of dissapointment, with the same comeback one week later and blowout a bad team (Cleveland last year, Carolina this year). And then the Arizona game last year matches up with Seattle this year. They were 4-4 at that point, but at least now they are still 4-2, so there is room for some optimism.
  22. Since the incentive to win games isn't nearly as high and you really just want to get guys work in, I don't think abuse of that system matters, even if it does happen.
  23. But that game was close in terms of score almost the entire way. It was a little like it. If they keep playing like this eventually the score will reflect a blowout.
  24. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/joe_sheehan/10/21/alcs.giardi.decisions/index.html?eref=sihp The writer cites Girardi leaning on Phil Hughes success in Arlington over the course of 15 innings, which took place in 2007 and 2009. He also notes that he let Berkman face a lefty (Oliver) because he was 4-6 off of him despite the last hit coming in 2003.
  25. Teams like the Yankees able to stash their 6th and 7th starters on the DL in between starts. Wouldn't that apply to everyone? Yes, but a team like the Yankees with excess payroll and a tendancy to hold onto older stars since they can afford it when they decline can pay guys like David Cone to start every 6th or 7th game. It's more of an advantage for rich teams who can afford more players on the payroll than a team like Pittsburgh who probably wouldn't want to pay more people than is necessary.
