  1. Jay Cutler has thrown the 15th most INTs in the league, and 13th most TDs. He's got a couple really dangerous games remaining for picks though. Green Bay is near the top in sacks and INT. New England is near the top in INT.
  2. At first I found it annoying, but then decided it's nice to have the option of watching a game just about every night for nearly a month.
  3. Somehow I've gotten myself roped into attending the freaking Pinstripe bowl with KState and Cuse alumni. First time in the new Yankee Stadium for me.
  4. honestly, how can anyone live in a world such as this? I think every player has to live in that world.
  5. I don't disagree that you should pay premium price for premium players, but my point is Werth is not a premium player. I've said before it could work out well for 2-3 years, but that's $15 mil of dead weight looming on your roster for 4 seasons. Teams like the Yankees and Red Sox can afford a couple of those or more, a team like the Cubs can afford one, but a team with a payroll south of $100 mil cannot have dead weight on their roster. With Werth, the Nats might hover around playoff contention while he's good. But they won't be able to give him much help while he's good and they'll have an albatross on their roster once he gets bad - and still won't have room to work around him with premium players. It looks better if they get their payroll over $100 mil and that might be part of their thinking, but I can't assume that when looking at the deal right now. I would think you have to make that assumption, that they are going past $100m soon. But I would have made similar assumptions about the Rockies when they were handing out huge deals, yet they cut like $20-30m at one point I think.
  6. It's the top headline. Yahoo.com just tweeted it 2 minutes ago.
  7. Because after the season somebody listed him as 19?
  8. King is right on here. I've heard this type of whining by Philly for a while now and it's completely bogus. Big Ben takes many more uncalled questionable hits. Vick runs all around and doesn't slide, that is why he is taking some hits that most QBs don't take.
  9. None of those UConn victories you listed seem impressive to me.
  10. Speaking of Petey: I think there is plenty of doubt.
  11. Yeah, it's not a must win. But I do think they need to get to 11, and if they lose this one, the Jets game becomes a must win since it's the last home game and the two divisional matchups are road games they will likely be underdogs in.
  12. I can't imagine the signing of Jayson Werth would excite any fan base. The most interesting thing about Jayson Werth is how he spells his name. Yeah, that is a terrible way to excite a fan base.
  13. walk where? he wanted more than 3 years, $45 million. who was going to give him that? I do not understand it but Yankees fans were nearly unanimous in their "give him what he wants" stance against the Yankees and for Jeter. It's crazy. But NY probably felt it had to pay more than they wanted just to satisfy the fans. It's not like it negatively affects their budget.
  14. A rare CBS game for the Bears as New England comes into town 6 days after a big division matchup with the J E T S. Patriots were 2.5 point favorites in this somewhere but the game is off the board until MNF ends. Everybody in the race won except for Tampa, and they could still easily finish 10-6. I don't know where all the tie breakers currently lie, but I just hope the Bears can win 2 more. I think both of the AFC East matchups remaining are winnable games. The Patriots do not have a defense. I think Belichik can come up with a scheme to offset the Bears success with that quick passing game they utilized so well against Detroit. But Chicago should still be able to put points on the board. The big concern is this passing defense vs Tom Brady. If Chicago comes out with the same defensive effort they had in the first half against Detroit, Brady is going to slice and dice his way to easy victory. The Bears can't count on New England coughing up the ball, as they only have 9 giveaways this season. They are going to have to tackle, hit and take the ball themselves if they want it. The Patriots do not have a greatest show on turf thing going on. They are only above average in both passing yards and rushing. But they score early and often. It's going to be tough. And like many other games this year, a loss wouldn't be unexpected or necessarily devastating. But with half the NFC seemingly looking for their 9th or 10th win this weekend, Chicago could really use another win to stay ahead of the pack.
  15. How is the story of this game that blatant unnecesary roughness penalty. It barely meant anything but was clearly a foul.
  16. everything you say is idiotic. You don't know a damn thing about football.
  17. You cant compare lucky breaks and incompetent coaching decisions costing a game.
  18. The point remains that the Bears lose in Week 1 if not for that rule technicality. As for today, when you're losing for the first 75% of the 2nd half and then take the lead, to me that counts as scoring at the end of the game. It wasn't the very end, but Detroit played well enough to win. And yet bears were in control except for last 60 seconds of first half.
  19. I can read. Bears scored with lots of time left. Not end of game..
  20. Bears didn't score at end of lions game. They got lucky first time vs Detroit but outplayed them. And the Washington non challenge remains inexcusable.
  21. Lucky win. Need 2 more this year to make playoffs. Hope jets beat up brady tonight. That passing game is going to dismantle bears defense.
  22. Nice to see crappy defense return.
  23. Why? Sell me on it...because based on the numbers he doesn't look like a particularly good player. Decent power but no patience, he's been a negative with the glove in all 3 seasons he's been on the Rangers, and negative offensive numers 2 of the 3 years. He spent most of the year in the minors this year and didn't make the postseason roster for them this year. And now he's gonna the starting 1B for the Cubs? First, I'm not sure he will be the starting 1B. Secondly, what's not to like about trading for a player with some potential at a position of need for a player who's ceiling is 2nd-string catcher. If he was acquired I think it would be near certainty he would start. Nothing wrong with trading a catching prospect for him. But if he's a starter that sucks.
  24. I'm thinking the winner of jets/pats has about an 80% chance of winning division.
  25. Carlos Pena and Nick Johnson are both very likely to sign much, much cheaper deals - perhaps 1 year and less than $8-10 mil for both of them. For guys who very realistically could exceed Dunn's value, those would be very good deals. You are funny. Yeah, going by those silly little statistics is pretty funny, isn't it. I should just go by preconceived notions and reputation I guess. 8-10 for those guys is a horrible idea. And you whine about Dunn's consistency. Seriously you make no sense.
