  1. The Pack is a 5 point favorite right, and I'm guessing that is subject to change depending on the outcome of Monday and Tuesday night football. This game could mean a hell of a lot, or absolutely nothing. Hope it's nothing because a 2 seed could be huge. I'm hoping Chicago gets to host the Saints in late January.
  2. This win would have been more enjoyable if the Jets fans could have gotten to my house yesterday, or shown up to work today.
  3. Philly pussirs getting rightfully shredded
  4. among sports nuts? Probably. Among sports fans? Probably not.
  5. The fact that they are all failed head coaches makes me think it is more possible to keep them where they are, but if it takes a Lovie extension to guarantee they are back I'm all for it.
  6. http://deadspin.com/5717114/fran-tarkenton-pretty-much-poops-all-over-brett-favre Fran Tarkenton seems bitter, and absolutely correct.
  7. Does it necessarily mean there was not? If they want to play the pity card and try and convince the public that it was to help their families, then the burden of proof for that is on them. It's used every time. And "help their families" is entirely relative. Any amount given to their parents regardless of how well off they are is helping their families. How is the burden of proof on them? They broke a rule and received punishment. But all they did was sell their own property. You can go ahead and keep acting like a lunatic who thinks this is a travesty, but that reflects more on your own problems than theirs.
  8. I loved him as a kid. When he left and came back though he began looking like a major douche. And his over-the-top negative statements about specific Cubs players, feeding the Kaplan beast, just shows what a petty ass he is and what little amount of baseball insight he actually has.
  9. Why is that an expletive? It's not like they went out and stole stuff or were dealing drugs. They sold their own possessions. That could very easily be because they and their families had no money. It's a blatantly obvious violation but not some horrible action. It's always the "right intent" according to the violators and the schools and that they were just unaware of the rules. Every single student athlete knows the rules. The bottom line is they did something damaging to their program, their own careers, and professional prospects for some cash. And they didn't even do it in a wise manner. They sold their own property. And that necessarily means there was a righteous intent behind it? Does it necessarily mean there was not?

  13. shocking that players would try and sell stuff for a little cash

  15. Can someone please explain to me, again, how Jay Cutler is a douchebag? I'd also appreciate if the explanation wasn't from an irrational Bears hater. If his deal in Denver is what made him a douchebag, please reconsider the situation. They threatened to replace him with an inferior QB in Matt Cassel right after he made the Pro-Bowl. He deserved to be pissed. Facial expressions and tone of voice is all I've ever heard people justify that claim with.
  16. It's weird, sure. But the most important thing is McNabb is a Redskin. The respect he built up was with Philly. He carries none of that with him to a new team that got nothing out of him. He claimed he found out about being 3rd from the media. Players claim that all the time. The contract was very clearly a "we aren't interested in you long time here's money now shut up" deal when looked at after the fact. If McNabb and his agent didn't realize that, they are morons. As for Grossman, he's 30 and there is no reason he can't be counted on as a veteran backup for the foreseeable future. Why not see how well he's grasping the system?
  17. Yes, that's what winning the division gives you. They probably need 2 wins for a bye though, and a reasonable shot at the Super Bowl.
  18. I always felt Philly fans gave McNabb a raw deal during his entire time with the Eagles. But all this nonsense about him feeling disrespected and everybody running to his defense is sickening. The guy is an old crappy QB who is not performing. He does not deserve special treatment. Teams treat underperforming veterans this way all the time. He was a star QB on another team, but that time is over. He's a sub 60% passer with very little production and lots of turnovers. There is no upside to McNabb anymore. If an old vet isn't performing, there's no point in holding out for the hope that he will do better. For some reason people are trying to lump in his treatment with how he has treated Haynesworth, who has been about the most despicable bum in the league in terms of effort. If you don't perform, are old and cost a lot, you are on your way out in the NFL. That is the way it has always been. There's no point in talking about how unfair or disrespectful it is.
  19. Yeah, he's a quality straight man and most of his humor is the somewhat surprising and subtle digs he takes when he appears to be Mr. Nice Guy.
  20. Do no-name wannabe play by play guys ever work as the color guy? Those are almost always former players. What sort of color could he possibly provide?
  21. He is saying he admitted to not being a hard worker before, thus, last in and first out.
  22. Martz raved about his work in the film room.
  23. It's more like, if your aunt stopped dressing your cousin up as a girl and making him play with dolls he'd look more like a boy.
  24. That was one of myriad things wrong about that article. Who the hell thinks Jay Cutler is elite? And who would take Mark Sanchez over him? Terry Bradshaw would take Sanchez. I think Cutler is right there with the elite. If he had some better offensive weapons and played in a dome I think he could put up monster numbers.
  25. The back cover of Newsday: http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2010/12/22/gal_frontpage_1222.jpg Saw that on way into train and cracked up.
