  1. why are they still acting as though multiple major leaguers are on the table?
  2. he could always be a long man.
  3. I never had any faith in him when he was doing well, so I really don't have any faith in him going forward either. But I wouldn't freak out if he started the year as the 5th guy with better options waiting in the wings.
  4. It was the sports central Anchor, schanowski It was more a general slam against Buerhle and Kaplan than the other zilches on Comcast. Understood. I just think Schanowski gets away with a lot of the same stupidity as the others just by not banging it over everybody's head so much. But if you listen to his reports it's clear he thinks Zambrano, Ramirez and Soriano all suck and that it would be absurd to even think of any of them contributing something positive to the team.
  5. OPS plus doesn't factor in salary, nor is it normized by position. Maybe you should take everybody's OPS+ and then adjust for position.
  6. Baseball season isn't too long, but fantasy baseball season is, or at least it makes sense why people lose interest over 6 months of daily lineup changes especially when standings are often set by August.
  7. They typically do not like us and it has been this way for years. I never thought they disliked the Bears more than they disliked every other team that has beaten up on them over the years.
  8. It was the sports central Anchor, schanowski
  9. Csn said buerhle is THE top pitcher on market.
  10. hey, I have the same issue. I'm going with SF this week, which is what I did last week.
  11. brings a whole new light to the collapse of the red sox.
  12. why on earth would the bears game be blacked out in st. louis? I saw that on the506, its just a grey hole in the broadcast map. hell, even I get the Bears game this week. weird. Because the Rams have a game at 3:15 and they don't show another NFL game at the same time. Same thing happens in Chicago. It will be on Sunday ticket though. Yep, it only happens when they have a home game fortunately. One of the downsides to living in/near an NFL city is that I regularly only get 2 games in a week if the doubleheader is on the wrong channel that week. Yeah, you get blacked out of other games depending on your home market, but the bars with Sunday Ticket won't.
  13. it's kind of an OPS+ for positions, without park factors.
  14. Wait, who are the guys before him that pulled out of the race?
  15. You'd probably get better bang for your buck with an interior lineman if the Bears pick in the 20s. I'd actually like to see a WR taken in the 1st. Angelo got himself into trouble by avoiding 2-4 round lineman for half a decade after Columbo was drafted and before Williams. It's not necessary to always get a first rounder on the line, but you need to have your several top half of the draft guys.
  16. i might go to his book signing thingy on thursday. I don't think linking to the 2 sites he posts at all the time will get you bumped to the front of the line. thankfully there shouldn't be a huge line for such an event
  17. i might go to his book signing thingy on thursday. go there and sit at a table and sign some books and talk to some fans I should, but I'm kind of scared of brooklyn
  18. i might go to his book signing thingy on thursday.
  19. The former or the latter? I think him leaving is more likely than St. Louis ratcheting up their offer significantly. okay, that's what you wrote but I thought maybe you meant otherwise when you threw in that "anyway" comment. Thanks
  20. While I agree with your sentiment I disagree with your logical inference. Maybe they weren't opposed to him interviewing, but when it comes time to accept the actual move they'd flinch. Maybe he wanted to interview to see if he was blown away, but he wasn't. There's a few reasons why simply interviewing does not guarantee family issues won't keep him away.
  21. http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2011/11/a-psu-scandal-victim-gets-an-unwelcome-grief-counselor.html#more-41498 KSK talks grief counselors (nsfw - pawtty mouth)

  23. That's called extortion and it's illegal. It's not an official agreement, its just talking. If the Red Sox say no, the Cubs can't make things more difficult for the Red Sox other than keep persuing Sveum, which they have every right to do. If the Red Sox say ok and still demand McNutt, the Cubs can't do anything either. But they can discuss a scenario that is mutually beneficial for each of them and keep it between themselves no official agreement. you don't need official agreements to have unethical and illegal business transactions
