    If the Bowls were smart and really looking out for their longterm future, they would work with the NCAA to have the bowls be the opening round of a small tournament. 4 New Years day games for 8 teams, followed by semifinal night games the week after NFL's opening round, and a championship game on the NFL bye before the Super Bowl.

    As a hitting coach, I would think he'd be most interested in bringing in his own hitting coach, and that's the one position where the guy was likely to return.

    I feel better about them when they come under the watch of Mike Maddux, whose approach is to intelligently stretch out a pitcher's arm. I feel slightly better about it, but it's still a very rare occurence to have such a jump in workload.

    He might be, but I happen to believe he is not. I think the things you are holding up as his best attributes are actually fairly scary. A low total of MLB innings while being highly effective in almost all of them and improving peripherals are scary? jumping from 50-70 ip per year to more than 200 2 years in a row. Less than 300 IP over a 5 year stretch followed by nearly 500 IP in a 2 year stretch. I don't like sudden jumps in workload.

    Real culture change: Stop being idiots, start paying attention to modern objective baseball analysis. Stop focusing on the wrong issues and start focusing on what matters. The general interpretation of culture change: We need more guys who ground out but run really hard when they ground out. Stop swinging for the fences. Be more aggressive. Bench people who make an error. Throw around platitudes. Play every game during the day on WGN.

    Jed's has GOT to cut down on the "ahh"s he says between every other word! I was just thinking that Jed is not a natural public speaker. Theo isn't very good either but I love what he says so we can ignore that.

    my goodness that Denver defense is good and needs to be getting a hell of a lot more attention than Tebow.

    because they went from 28 teams to 30 teams, and had to keep an even number on both sides. Bud's club wanted to play the Cubs and Cardinals. The issue is somebody has to go the AL west now, and Houston makes sense with Texas already there (and a convenient ownership change facilitating a little hand forcing.
