  1. Minor league guy with a stump for an arm, that's amazing
  2. http://deadspin.com/5895995/cops-bobby-jenks-said-he-smashed-into-a-car-in-a-strip-club-parking-lot-and-had-to-get-out-of-there It's a good thing Boston got that booze out of the clubhouse. They are well on their way to emulating the Cardinals.
  3. http://deadspin.com/5895990/joba-chamberlain-nearly-bled-out-on-the-floor-of-rebounderz great googily moogily
  4. enemy of dayman?
  5. Iowa didn't retire it?
  6. He's preparing to be arrested in the Sam Hurd case.
  7. didn't we owe him money if we cut him? They owed him a workout bonus if they kept him through the summer
  8. Actually Castro should still be in the minors. He should've played at least full seasons in AA and AAA, before maybe getting a cup of coffee with the ML team this year. You wouldn't want to start that arby/FA clock too soon  He was called up back then the Cubs used to try and win. They aren't trying now so the scenarios have changed. Plus, Castro is a future hall of famer. Rizzo is just a nice player who will probably have a nice little career. You need to maximize his value to the organization.
  9. what the hell? seriously?
  10. I'm coming at it from more of an occupy wall street anti 1% angle. That money should go to teachers and fire fighters and to keeping tickets low so people who really love the team can watch the games. I don't want to live in a world where my son can't afford season tickets.
  11. it's not about losing him
  12. First off, you really shouldn't listen to the radio. Secondly, there's a hell of a lot of people touting the "pay the man" line over and over and over.
  13. And that's meatball opinion I was talking about. He could easily get more than 20 mil on the open market, and he's knows it and is frustrated..especially considering his hands are tied. But he's not on the open market so that point is completely meaningless. It's the rules of the game. If he doesn't want to play fine, but he won't get paid at all that way.
  14. I don't know, but in the Bears favor, none of those three are/should be getting top dollar. Cutler and Marshall are a good notch below the biggest cap hits at their respective positions. It's going to be really tough in 2 years though.
  15. You don't see the point or you disagree with that line of thinking? The point is glaringly obvious.
  16. I think it is strange that you think people's perception is based on a tweet. His act didn't start with a tweet.
  17. Maybe if Sveum doesn't pull a Quade and leave Dempster in until he starts giving up runs in bunches the Cubs can have a successful start to the season.
  18. ESPN the mag has a story about baseball's reluctance to deal with mechanical flaws that can lead to injuries I really love this quote. So baseball, and so White Sox.
  19. he probably knows garza will be traded before then and doesn't want to make a last minute change for opening day
  20. This sounds incredibly painful and awful and terrible and horrible. An ankle dislocation that causes an open flesh wound?
  21. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-rizzo-jackson-among-cubs-cuts-20120323,0,126421.story oh my god they cut jackson
  22. That's why god invented cheap hotels.
