  1. I think a more dynamic RB would have more than 5 TD, and more than 4 rushes of 20+ that Swift has. The team has zero runs over 40, and have by far the highest YPC of the 10 teams without a 40+. The line has been great at opening holes but the RBs have not taken full advantage, imo, despite a great game in Philly.
  2. Yeah. I get calling Chiefs and Bill teams that can flip a switch and beat anybody in the playoffs, because they have superstar QBs and have done it before. GB and Detroit do not have superstar QBs and have like 1 playoff win apiece the last couple years. The track records are too dissimilar
  3. I very much thought that as I looked at the schedule and it would be hilarious. Wouldn’t be upset at 4 NFC wins vs one AFC loss.
  4. If they end the season leading the league then will amend the statement. But so far this year they are leading the conference because of a bunch of escape jobs against bad teams and what is now two good victories. Better teams have faced tougher competition and because of that Chicago is the current leader of the pack. That’s great. I love it. They took advantage of the comparatively easy first half schedule, and stepped up in their first big game of the second half. Let’s see where they are after facing GB twice, Detroit again and the niners. If they somehow go 4-1 in this stretch they are sitting pretty, 3-2 would be tremendous, but probably not good enough to stay at the top. But 1-4 is still very much of the table based on how they have played this season.
  5. They are leading the nfc by default. You aren’t effectively an even point differential team if your roster has no holes. The defensive line is terrible. The defense is getting by on smoke and mirrors and coaching. But the talent is severely lacking. There are no real holes on offense, if none of the old guys on the line get hurt this month. I think they need to move on from swift but they don’t need to spend big there. But the defense needs investment
  6. The bears were the talk of the league after a shocking performance against the eagles that vaulted them into the top spot in the NFC. But the general consensus is this will not last and Chicago is a 6 point underdog up in dairy land. Would another shocking upset win finally put to bed the narrative that this Bears team has been lucky to get to this spot with a slew of close wins over bad teams and few quality victories? Probably. But a loss of any kind, even one that is well played and a “tip your hat” type of result will solidify that narrative and keep this team on the bottom of most people’s NFC playoff expectations. oh, and it’s going to be cold.
  7. Disagree there. This is a mid tier roster with plenty of holes and/or room for improvement.
  8. I had no idea that Dayo was due such a huge raise. Oof. What a terrible signing. Hope they can get some sort of injury settlement relief to get out of that one but assume there will be a big dead cap hit.
  9. Definitely some sort of progress
  10. This has been one hell of a sloppy game
  11. Regression, thee hath been meaned
  12. Why would you be pissed if Cleveland looks good against the titans?
  13. Holy horsefeathers. this defense is good?
  14. American Thanksgiving is here and the Blackhawks are on the outside looking in for playoff spots. They played a great game against Minnesota but lost to the better team in OT. Chicago does have a game in hand over Utah, who is two points ahead for the final wild card. They still have a shot at making it but 4 game losing streaks will dent your point totals. This is still more about the future but hoping this team gets back on winning side soon
  15. It didn’t have to be a safety
  16. I didn’t see this play live but saw the replay today and…, Caleb fd up royally. Watt wasn’t on him quickly at all.
  17. Conversely, any team that has to count on the Bears taking a dump down the stretch have to like their chances
  18. It’s Amazon week with the Bears playing in front of an international audience at the recently phlaundering Eagles. The natives are restless for the defending champs, and there’s a good chance Philly comes out blazing as touchdown favorites to quiet the doubters. I have to imagine the eagles offense will be explosive against the beaten down Bears defense. Despite some heroic efforts against a slew of mediocre teams, Chicago has surrendered the 6th most points per game this season, at 26.5. Philly is 8th best at just 20.5. Chicago does have a top ten scoring offense, again, against mediocre to bad competition for the most part. Philly is right in the middle at 23.2 PPG. They have been terribly inconsistent, scoring 30+ 3 times then going back to back with 10 and 16 points, in wins over NFC north teams. They score three first half touchdowns against Dallas before shutting down completely. I think if Philly wants to they can win this one handily. But I don’t know what their major malfunction has been this season. Hopefully they don’t bounce back strong from a terrible division loss on short rest.
  19. Philly is phalling apart internally.
  20. Would be nice if the offense could finish with a lead. So many chances wasted to put games away against mediocre to bad teams, next time they face a good team that’ll bite them
  21. I’m not sure I’d call what they did with the O-line “patching together” when they deliberately went out and invested significantly on three interior guys. The LT spot is a patchwork, but the line as a whole is a deliberate investment.
  22. He’s been more than fine.
  23. The only teams in the west with a higher points percentage than Chicago (.632) are Colorado, Dallas and Anaheim. They are tied with Winnipeg and Vegas. 10 teams are below them. 13 more teams in the East are below them, including the entire Atlantic division. Carolina and New Jersey are the only teams in the east ahead of them in points %.
