  1. I'm assuming Pit/Det/Chi/NJ in that order.
  2. Is Parise going to actually put them in cap hell? They are 7.75 under right now. If they sign something that puts him just above Kane/Toews cap hit (6.3) they still have some room, plus, 3-4 candidates to be moved away for more space.
  3. I liked it better when they were in cap hell than when they've been comfortably below. Yeah it was fine in 2010 because they were a healthy team. And I know what you're saying. Just don't want to be in a situation where they can't add anyone at the deadline. Not that Stan has a track record of helping the team at that point anyway... I would rather build the best team possible by October and risk not being able to add than purposefully go in with space you may never get the chance to use.
  4. I liked it better when they were in cap hell than when they've been comfortably below.
  5. I have no idea what any of that means. If he's playing his best and winning other tournaments, the major wins will follow. That's the way it was pre-2009. Come on, it's not complicated. The way you wrote it it was. At least to me.
  6. Apparently he's looking for front loaded signing bonus money. That's something a more financially stable franchise can deal with (but might not be in the cards in NJ).
  7. I would have to think he'd actually think strongly about not returning to NJ. They do absolutely nothing to market that team, and ownership is a huge mess. I never thought Marty was leaving, but I think Parise needs to go somewhere else.
  8. Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc Like others, hearing #Blackhawks are among final two teams to possibly land Zach Parise.
  9. I think David posted about this last page... Any word on what happened? deadspin brought it up and mentioned he suffers from migraines. he's being evaluated He's taking the rest of the season off for undisclosed medical reasons
  10. Vitters should not be called up. They'll just play Valbuena and Baker. Yeah, it's not like Stewart being unavailable is something new. And they haven't missed any production by him being gone. His replacements have probably been a bit better. The last thing you do now is call up Vitters. There's no need. Nothing to be gained. And it will only cost you in the end.
  11. He doesn't seem to me to be the type of guy I'd like my team to trade anything of value for. Maybe if you were a small market team that was a surprising contender and you were trying to throw your fans a bone with an acquisition. But you'd have to have a pretty weak OF situation for him to be much of a step up. The Cubs aren't exactly bursting with bodies that need to play in the OF ASAP. I think I'd rather they keep him around and hope he has a better start to next season.
  12. I doubt that very much. Why would they be impressed by fans who pay attention to the organization? It's not like they haven't seen it before.
  13. everybody else is reporting it as well. 2/9
  14. I have no idea what any of that means.
  15. For a team that has been so worried about cap space the past couple years, spending over a million for such a non-essential player in any given year seems to be a waste. If all you are going to do is deal away your costly vets and stockpile prospects it doesn't make much sense to turn around and keep wasting millions on back-end guys.
  16. Seens like a big overpay for a 6th d-man.
  17. Oh Sori that felt good, you went real deep that time
  18. yeah, that would have been horrible It certainly wouldn't have helped sell the product. Zambrano's a marginal player at this point, just like Reed Johnson. No sense in putting up with distractions if you don't have to. So you're saying they might struggle to sell tickets in a down year if Zambrano was on the team? That makes a lot of sense. Since when has Zambrano been a gate attraction? The fanbase turned on him years ago. As evidenced by the decrease in tickets sold while he was still here and the increase in tickets sold since he's been gone.
