  1. This zone is a mile wide, for both sides.
  2. Cueto's been really struggling in his last few stats, but we called in Mario Soto and he apparantley discovered what he had been doing wrong. Big start tonight for him. Either he rebounds and Soto discovered what was wrong, or his struggles continue and you really start to worry. The Reds have their best three pitchers going in this series, which is why I only expect to take 2 of 3 instead of a sweep. This is a bad baseball team, people. Here's the Reds lineup: Ryan Freel cf Ken Griffey Jr. rf Brandon Phillips 2b Joey Votto 1b Edwin Encarnacion 3b Adam Dunn lf Jeff Keppinger ss Paul Bako c Johnny Cueto p Griffey's best friend died and he wasn't originally in the lineup. He asked back in it, though.
  3. lol The Giants wouldn't do that deal for Lincecum alone, and no packaging in Barry Zito isn't going to make them trade Lincecum.
  4. Loshe's stuff has never been questioned, it's always been his head. It really should be a surprise to nobody that he has put it together in St. Louis.
  5. Freel is hitting 292/327/354 and is sitting so Corey Patterson 213/281/475 can start. Gotta love some Dusty. So Patterson has a better OPS, and is a far better baserunner and defender. Keep. Reaching. I don't have to reach to know Dusty is a bad manager and the Reds will be under 500 at the end of the season. Then just post that and stop looking for crap to blame on Dusty that isn't really there. I'll post whatever I want. Dusty is bad manager and I'll crticize him when I feel like it. Go back to the Redszone if you don't like it. Fine Vance, if you want to post crap and look for reasons to blame Dusty, go ahead. Yes, that is your right. You are wrong, but that's never stopped you from posting before.

Reaching. I don't have to reach to know Dusty is a bad manager and the Reds will be under 500 at the end of the season. And that batting at the top of the order, I'd much rather have the extra 46 pts. of OBP than the 125 pts of slugging. And Freel is a bad fielder and one of the worst baserunners you will fine. Patterson is a better player. Really Jay Bruce should be in CF, but whatever. Corey's baserunning skills rarely come into play. That's the problem. A sub-.300 OBP from your leadoff hitter isn't even in the remote vicinity of acceptable. Corey has no value whatsoever as a leadoff man. If we were discussing Freel vs. Patterson as your #8 hitter, your points would have some validity. No one is reaching here. Neither of them belong hitting leadoff, and Dusty's lineup construction has been nothing but putrid all year.

  11. Wrigley would draw at least 35,000 in this weather. How many would throw crap on the field? (Relax, take a joke)
  12. It was, but Encarnacion made up for it with two absolutely ridiculous plays. Cardinals lose and the Cubs put a half game between them and the Cards. S-T-U-D I hope you are joking. Now that Braun is in left field he is the worst defensive thirdbaseman in baseball. And he is a helluva hitter. His defense will improve, and if it doesn't he'll follow in Braun's footsteps.

  14. Better question: How does Paul Bako have 3 triples already?
  15. fixed How is that 50K treatin ya? How is Dusty treatin ya? oh burn! hahaha oh snap!
  16. fixed How is that 50K treatin ya?
  17. yeah, he's done a great job of taking ABs away from votto, who's clearly the better player. Hatteberg made his first start since April 10th today. Yeah, really taking ABs away. Just bash him for his 9-14 record and stop reaching for other stuff.
  18. You can hear the Cubs fans singing in the background....
  19. Me and Flames were talking on AIM during the Hawpe AB, and I definatley would have had Marmol in there.
  20. The way he has handled Edwin is so refreshing from what Narron did. He's handled the young pitchers well, in fact, he's handled all of the young guys very well.
  21. I've never disagreed with anything you just said. It was a bad trade for the Reds, and it turned out to be a bad one for the Nationals.
  22. Both Wagner and Lopez were declining when they were traded, and Krivsky saw that. Lopez has a career OPS of .723 and can't play a lick of defense. Krivsky theoretically sold high on him, the problem was he didn't get anything for him. Bray will be in the majors within the next few weeks, and will probably be right behind Cordero and Burton in terms of "stuff". Thompson as a 22 year old in AA: 23.2 IP 16 H 2 ER 25 Ks 1 BB He's the Reds best pitching prospect (excluding Cueto and Volquez) other than Homer Bailey. I'm not really sure how you say he's not a Reds top 20 prospect. Trades aren't judged at the time they are completed either. You can't judge them until they play out. If Bray turns out to be a solid reliever and Thompson turns into a major league SP, the Reds could still get the "better". However, the trade didn't work out for either team. The problem is, Krivsky got really desperate for relief pitching, and he got himself in trouble. He got desperate for SP and a CF this year, and ended up giving Patterson and Fogg multi-million dollar contracts when they could have been had for peanuts.
